About the church

Nasriya Orthodoxy is a form of Orthodox(as in the sense of conservative, not relating to Orthodoxy like in Serbia) Christianity. It descends from the Syrian Orthodox Church. It is unknown when the church was founded. The faithful pray 3 times a day. Here, the most important prayers are traditionally in Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ. It is striking that in Nasriya Orthodoxy the name God is not mentioned. The Nasriyans use the name Elaha/Alobo or the Arabic name Allah (not to be confused with the Allah of Islam). Jesus is also called Yeshua, after His Hebrew name. Jesus is also known in full as Maron Yeshua Mshikho bar Yosef barod Elaha Qudsha Qudsha Qudsha. This means Jesus the Messiah Son of Joseph Son of God holy holy holy. Despite the fact that Nasriyan Christianity descends from the Syrian Orthodox Church, it still has its own history and way of holding church services. It is not in communion with any church. The Nasriya church allows double denominationism as they believe that anyone can become nasriya even without knowing about it's existence.
