Founding
The The Most Holy and Serene Republic of Terra Mariae is a micronation on the North American continent. It was founded on July 17, 2021 as a safe haven for those who believe the United States has been consumed by tyranny. Being such, it declares itself independent and maintains that it is up to those who speak for the voice of the people to declare it a sovereign state, separate from the United States. Therefore, it declares itself to be an independent state under the control of a Chancellor, who acts in the name of the people and in union with a legislative assembly.
Government Structure
The governmental structure of Terra Mariae is based on the system of bicameralism and the form of government known as a maritime republic. In the government, there are two Councils, the Executive and Legislative. The Executive Council's members are chosen by the Chancellor. The members of the Legislative Assembly are elected by the citizens of Terra Mariae and then are approved by the Chancellor.
The Charter of the Serene Republic of Terra Mariae
Through never-ending trust in Divine Providence, may we, as rightful claimants and rulers of the majestic and glorious land set before us at the creation of the Earth, make ourselves subject to the rule of God, and of His holy Church. By the proper and unanimous declaration of the people, who will be represented by the Legislative assembly, and by the Chancellor of Terra Mariae. The citizens of this mighty land, retain the rights and provisions of this Charter unto the end of the world. The rights of the citizens shall never be infringed by the Chancellor or under the administration of this Serene Republic. All citizens are guaranteed numerous and unalienable rights as citizens of this land, namely the freedoms of the press, of free speech, and of religion.
Hereby, the The Most Holy and Serene Republic of Terra Mariae is henceforth established and subject to the rule of God and his vicar on Earth, the Pope, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the State of Vatican City, Servant of the Servants of God.
