Monsef Mahdi Al-Saleh (Arabic: منصف مهدي الصالح; Tawilan: مُنصهِف مَهدّی اِلصاّلهِح; born 10 May 1997), better known as Monsef, is a Tawilan professional footballer who is a striker and plays the Tawil national football team. He last played for Iraq Stars League club Newroz.
He is the top scorer for Tawil with 34 goals and is one of the best players of Tawilan football. He formerly played for Egypt but never got any playing time.
Career
2012–2017
Monsef played in the academy of Aswan SC and came out through the Aswan academy and made his debut for the club in the end of the 2012–2013 season where he scored the winning goal to lead Aswan to get promoted to the Egyptian Premier League.
Monsef was later loaned to New Zealand club Napier City Rovers, where he scored 11 goals and 5 assists and was rumoured to be signed on a permanent deal but Monsef fell out with the coach.
Monsef would be loaned again to National League (then known as Conference National) club Wrexham AFC, he contributed by scoring 16 goals. For the last part of the season, Monsef was injured and could not play.
Monsef would later play 10 games for Aswan scoring 12 goals and 7 assists. He later would be bought by Perth Glory in the middle of the 2016–17 season for $53,360 (£30,428; Ð535,436,000).
Records
He is the micronation’s top scorer with 34 goals in 33 games. Monsef made his debut against Senya on 13 July 2018 and scored two goals and one assist to win the game 4–3. Since then, he is considered as one of the greatest players in Tawil but he never played in the Primare Liga.
