Military (Sun Republic)
The Sun Republic has an expansive military:
Drawing substantial inspiration from the French military, The Sun Republic's armed forces operate within a highly regimented and somewhat inflexible framework. The system is characterized by steadfast adherence to established rules and regulations, with any alterations regarded as significant events within the Republic.
The military's duties are notably specialized, with a primary focus on ceremonial activities and musical performances during events. A majority of active military personnel serve as band members, necessitating a mandatory two-year service commitment within the military ensemble. The routine tasks of the military involve regular marches throughout the Essen City Capital Region, allowing for practice and refinement of marching routines. This disciplined practice is integral to their training and proficiency.
Basic Training
New recruits and returning military personnel undergo a comprehensive 2 to 4-week basic military training program designed to acquaint them with the intricacies of the band program and essential military skills. This foundational training delves into the nuances of uniform wear, protocol for reporting to higher-ranking officials, and an in-depth examination of the hierarchical ranking system. While physical training isn't compulsory during basic training, it is strongly encouraged.
The curriculum encompasses instruction on marching techniques, crucial for band members who are expected to participate in performances for a minimum of two years. Returning military personnel undergo specialized training focusing on band direction, critical operations, and leadership skills. Additionally, they take charge of organizing materials within the extensive library, including sheet music. The program aims to equip recruits and returning personnel with the requisite knowledge and skills essential for their roles within the military ensemble while fostering leadership and organizational abilities for those with prior experience.
Combat Training
New recruits are mandated to participate in a two-day class designed to provide foundational combat training. This curriculum encompasses instruction in the handling and utilization of airsoft and paintball weapons. Emphasizing a shoot-to-disable approach, the military strongly advocates against lethal force.
Following the weapons training, recruits receive instruction in fundamental tactical maneuvers, including strategies for sieges and room-clearing procedures during emergency scenarios. However, it's noteworthy that combat training is deemed non-essential within the training regimen and can be omitted entirely based on situational considerations. This segment of the training program aims to acquaint recruits with basic combat techniques, although its inclusion is contingent upon specific circumstances and training priorities.
