History
Pre-Creation
The first sighting recorded by Europeans was by Spanish navigator Álvaro de Saavedra on 1 January 1528. Together with Utirik, Ailinginae and Toke atolls, they were charted as Islas de los Reyes (Islands of the Three Wise Kings in Spanish) due to the proximity of Epiphany. Fourteen years later it was visited by the Spanish expedition of Ruy López de Villalobos.
Rongelap Atoll was claimed by the Empire of Germany along with the rest of the Marshall Islands in 1884, and the Germans established a trading outpost. After World War I, the island came under the South Seas Mandate of the Empire of Japan. Following the end of World War II, Rongelap came under the control of the United States as part of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.
Independence Day
On July 23, 2021 Slade Lee claimed ownership on Rongelap Atoll, he turned it into a micronation and changed the name to Marshoa. Slade Lee changed the land a lot by changing it from presidential to parliamentary. Marshoa also has a military that includes, canoes, nerf guns and hammers. On July 25, 2021 Slade's little brother decided to join the nation making him the executive vice king.
Marshoan Cold War
On the same day Slade Lee claimed ownership of Rongelap Atoll and created Marshoa, Triloa (a neighboring micronation) declared war on Marshoa, Slade then called Kingsley Angste (Queen of Marshoa) to try to end the war. After chatting for an hour and a half, Slade and Triloa made the Marshoan Union, which was an agreement to make peace with each other. This would later change once Crownton decided to claim ownership of the Ailinginae Atoll.
Culture
Sports
Marshoa has a soccer team that consists of Slade and his two brothers. This team is called the Marshoan Pumas, it has gone against other micronation soccer teams and Marshoa has one of the strongest micronation soccer teams. The Marshoan Pumas might also get another member, who is Slade's friend as he is a citizen in Marshoa. Marshoa almost won the micronation soccer league until they were beaten by The Democratic Republic of Cacoa, still Marshoa got second place.
Holidays
Marshoa is heavily influenced by America as it celebrates many of the same holidays. Despite that it has it's own unique holidays, Marshoan holidays are celebrated by every citizen because they like to party. Celebrating mostly consists of dressing up, sending stuff and eating stuff.
