Marcha Vasillica, (Eng: March of Vasillica) also known as Himno Nacional dos Balsi (Eng: National Anthem of Balzi) and by its incipit Un Novo dia Giorna (Eng: A New Day has Arrived), is the national anthem of the Republic of Balzi. The anthem was officially declared as the national anthem on August 18, 2024, through Presidential Decree No. 8 by President Carl Miguel Salgado Victa. The lyrics were written by President Victa, and the music, originally composed by Phil Coulter for “Ireland’s Call” was adapted and established as the national anthem of Balzi.

Marcha Vasillica is performed in the Balzian language, specifically Leguean according to the Executive Order. The anthem was adopted by the Interim Government of Balzi during a period when the nation was operating without a formal constitution.

History

After Balzi declared independence from Renderfeit on July 5, 2022, President Victa focused on rebuilding the nation and establishing foundational elements, including a national anthem. By March 2023, the music of “Ireland’s Call” had gained popularity within Balzi, prompting Vasillica Broadcasting News to produce a televised version of the anthem, featuring prominent locations in Yamuri with a Japanese language transition.

In response to its growing popularity, President Victa composed lyrics for the anthem, drawing inspiration from the nationalistic and patriotic tone of the French anthem. The anthem, titled Marcha Vasillica or “March of Vasillica,” was initially codified through Presidential Proclamation No. 8, with an additional verse added later.

On August 18, 2024, amid a 470 percent increase in Balzi’s population, President Victa issued a Presidential Decree to formally designate Marcha Vasillica as the official national anthem of Balzi, solidifying its status along with the official lyrics.
