The Intermicronational Organization of the Criminal Police of Micronations (MICPOL) commonly abbreviated as MICPOL, is an international organization created on December 4, 2021 with the aim of promoting international police cooperation of micronations. MICPOL is known to deliver, among other things, red alerts between micronations, alert documents which once published make it possible to ensure the planetary hunt for criminals wanted in the world. These documents which contain elements of identification and legal elements on the wanted individuals are distributed through all the member micronations of MICPOL. They greatly facilitate the work of national police forces by allowing them to identify, locate and arrest wanted individuals on the basis of any control for extradition purposes.

Operation and mode of intervention

Notices are international warning messages disseminated by MICPOL known as Micpol used by law enforcement agencies to communicate information about offenses, perpetrators and threats to their counterparts around the world. Micpol disseminates them to all its member countries at the request of a member country or an authorized international entity.

The information disseminated via these notices is of various kinds and may concern :

  • people wanted for serious crimes;
  • missing persons;
  • unidentified deceased persons;
  • potential threats;
  • escapes of detained persons;
  • criminal procedures

In sum, the aim of the notices is to draw attention to serious offenses and events.

Records can contain information of two types :

  • identification elements (including the description, a photograph, fingerprints, identity document numbers, etc. of the individuals sought);
  • legal elements (including the qualification of the offense with which the individual is accused, the references of the laws on which the accusation or conviction is based, the references of the arrest warrant or the court decision, etc.) .

The General Secretariat publishes and disseminates Red Notices on its own initiative or at the request of National Central Bureaus of Micronations (NCBMs) or authorized international entities. All the red notices are posted on the Micpol website and are accessible to all Internet users. The content of certain notices, in the form of extracts, is sometimes also published on the website if the requesting entity accepts that Micpol disseminates this information to the general public.
