The Kingdom of Okuria was a Slovak micronation.
Etymology
The name Okuria is composed of two words in Slovak/Czech: Okurka (cucumber in Czech) and Kura (chicken in Slovak). The two words were unified and the name was born.
History
Establishment and the Era of Absolutism
Okuria was established on 21 February 2020 by Oľga Bebečková, who became the country's absolute monarch, having total power over the country. The nation could be referred to as egostan then, because it had only one citizen. In March 2020, Okuria became largely inactive and nearly became defunct.
Reform and Constitutional Monarchy
In May 2020, Okuria became active again after two months of hiatus. The Queen decided to gain citizens. In June, there were 9 already. The Queen resigned on 13 June 2020 and was replaced by Nela I in elections. Also, a system of constitiutional monarchy was established. On 16 June 2020, first parliamentary election was held, with the Ecological Party winning and Bebečková becaming the Prime Minister.
Inactivity and last months of existence
Shortly after the election, Okuria again fell into inactivity, in which it remained practically to its dissolution. The Queen resigned from her post in July 2020, and the post remained vacant. Early elections were supposed to be held in August, but this did not happen. Okuria was de facto dissolved after the Republic of Earthia was established on 24 September 2020.
Government and politics
Okuria was an absolute monarchy to June 2020 and from then, it became constitutional monarchy with Prime Minister having most power in the country.
Monarchy
The Monarchy of Okuria was the head of state. The descendant of the Monarch was elected directly by all citizens. In the last months of existence of the country, the Monarch was only a ceremonial head of state, but this post was very respected in Okuria.
Prime Minister
The Prime Minister was the head of government of Okuria and had biggest power in the country.
