Overview

The Kingdom of Jacksonia is a very small micronation based in Niangua,Moberly, and Lebanon, Missouri that was formed on March 18, 2018. It takes its culture, laws, military, and customs from Northern European medieval cultures. As of September 2021, they have a population of 30.

History

Early Beginnings

The Kingdom of Jacksonia started out as 3 separate kingdoms: the Kingdom of Aidanagh on 180 North Pine Street(Niangua, MO), the Kingdom of Kwintona on 337 North Olive Street(Niangua,MO), and the Kingdom of Jacksonia on 360 North Olive Street(Niangua,MO). These 3 separate kingdoms were ruled by Aidan Heifner, Kwinton Frye, and Jackson Venolia. They envied each other, and so Aidan formed an alliance with Kwinton and attacked Jacksonia with 4 men on March 18, 2018, at 3:00 PM. He laid siege to the walls of Jackson Castle(which had 4 defenders), but was unsuccessful. After scanning to see who was defending the castle(and found out that his brother Gavin betrayed him), he gave up and pledged his and Kwinton's loyalty to Jackson. Thus the Kingdom of Jacksonia was born.

Kiel Rebellion

After forming the Kingdom of Jacksonia, the newly crowned king Jackson was quarreling with his brother Prince Ezekiel over how to run the government. This came to a head when on March 31, 2018, Ezekiel rallied his 2 supporters and headed south to the Kingdom of Prestongrad(228 North Pine Street Niangua MO). King Preston allowed Ezekiel to create the Kingdom of Kiel. All was quiet until April 7, 2018, when Ezekiel's 3 man army invaded the new Barony of Aidanagh(defended by 3 men). Although Baron Aidan fought bravely, they pinned him down and forced him to cede his barony to Ezekiel. He then fled with his men to Jackson Castle and asked if he could create a backup barony next to the castle. Jackson agreed, and the land next to the castle(a church south of the castle) became part of the kingdom. For the next 3 months, Jackson would send expedition after expedition to retake it, but failed. He then had to ask Aidan's former independent neighbor to the east, the Kingdom of Stephenland(270 North Olive Street, Niangua MO)to help crush the rebellion. King Stephen agreed and with a force of 3 men joined Jackson's 4 man army. On July 23, 2018, a 9-man army under the command of Baron Aidan stormed Ezekiel's 3 man army. Ezekiel lost, and the rebellion was over.

1st Jacksonian Empire

After the Kiel Rebellion, Jackson wanted to create an empire. So he sent Baron Aidan(now was promoted to Viscount) to go to a place rumored to be known as Moberly. Jackson was being plagued by his subjects talking about Moberly being rich in resources. So on October 1, 2018, Viscount Aidan(with a fleet of 1 van and 1 truck and a crew of 9 men)journeyed to this land called Moberly and settled on 401 East Rollins Street(Moberly,MO). Two days later, the king recognized Aidan's settlement as his first colony. This started the 1st Jacksonian Empire(October 3, 2018 – June 20, 2020). The customs,religion,government, and military adopted Imperial Germany as their inspiration. Nerf guns replaced wooden melee weapons and bows. This went on for 1 years,8 months, and 20 days. During this time the residents of 327 East Rollins Street joined the empire and a war between the colony and the Mason Gang was won(May 19, 2019 – June 20, 2020). However the colony was too distant from the capital, and was thus seen as an autonomous region of the empire. The 1st Jacksonian Empire ended when on June 20, 2020, the Moberly Colony broke away from the empire and started the Kingdom of Anglia(June 21, 2020 – April 1, 2021).

2nd Jacksonian Empire

After the Moberly Colony was acknowledged as a failure, King Jackson decided to rebuild it. So he sent the newly promoted Duke Aidan to find new lands. On August 19, 2021, Duke Aidan left Niangua for Lebanon,Missouri and settled on 1 Walters Drive(Lebanon,MO). The 2nd Jacksonian Empire is reverting to having its inspiration from medieval northern Europe. On September 26, 2021, Duke Aidan abandoned 1 Walters Drive and settled in 286 North Monroe Avenue.

General Information

Population

In its inception, the population was 17. In 2019, the population was 25. In 2020, the population was 12. In 2021, the population was 30.

Religion

There is no official religion. However the most practiced religions are Christianity and Norse Paganism.

National Anthem

Currency

The currency is the US dollar(they don't have anything of value to make their money worth something).

Language

The language is English. However, the military will use the Younger Futhark for communication.

Government

The government is run by the nobles(who have titles like Baron, Viscount, Earl, Marquess, and Duke), who then answer to the king. The nobles and the king can be deposed from office and replaced with commoners. Once a month, the nobles hold a Thing to discuss the affairs of state. The laws, for the sake of simplicity, come from the Ten Commandments.

Military

When the kingdom was created, the soldiers were still fighting with wooden weapons. By the time the 1st Jacksonian Empire was created, soldiers were wearing pickelhaubes(Prussian spiked helmets) and fighting with Nerf guns and wooden sabers. In 2020 foam weapons were being used in conjunction with Nerf guns and wooden weapons, and pickelhaubes were considered useless. In 2021, armor was introduced.
