History

The Kingdom of Fermanagh was an ancient kingdom on the island of Ireland dating back to the 1000s. It was an elective monarchy, however from the 1298, King Donn was elected and the Mág Uidhir (Maguire) family ruled over Fermanagh for many of the following years until its dissolution.

Fermanagh has been officially reestablished as a new micronation by a far descendent family branch of the Maguire family.

The initial capital of the Kingdom of Fermanagh, and recently reinstated is and was Lisnaskea. Currently, there is direct rule from Belfast City temporarily from the descended Maguire family from the previous monarchs before the initial collapse of the legacy kingdom a few centuries ago in 1607.

The nations few final monarchs who died or fleed and gave up the Kingdom were

Seán Mág Uidhir (died 1566)

Cú Chonnacht Óg Mág Uidhir (died 1589)

Aodh Mág Uidhir (or, 'Hugh Maguire') (died 1601)

Cú Chonnacht Óg Mág Uidhir (fled 1607 in the Flight of the Earls; died 1608)
