Dogsville, also known as the Kingdom of Dogsville is a landlocked micronation located in the middle of Henderson Nevada, United States. The uniqueness of Dogsville that sets itself apart from other nations is the ceremonial rule of dogs as ceremonial governance of the nation. In Dogsville, Dogs are the symbolic animal of the nation representing love and companionship amongst their owners. This symbolism brings a strong community where the bond between humans and their four-legged friends is celebrated as an individuals day to day life.
Dogsville was founded on April 17th 2021 after declaring independence from the United States of America, after its independence Dogsville has stood as a nation of where people can come together and form a bond amongst each other like no other!
Etymology
The Kingdom of Dogsville derived its name through a random combination of two words: "Dog" and "Ville." The word "Dog" originates from the Old English word "docga," which refers to a canine. Meanwhile, "Ville" stems from the French language, specifically from the term for a city or town. The etymology of Dogsville lacks any significant backstory or historical significance. It was simply a creative mixture between the two words, chosen without any specific meaning or intention behind it. The name Dogsville embodies the essence of the kingdom's pet-focused nature, representing a place where dogs are at the center of attention and play a prominent role in the community.
History
On December 12th 2020, a group of devoted canine enthusiast created a unique and playful community for their furry friends and called their community Dogsville. The Dogsville community grew larger, the founders of Dogsville wanted to think of a creative way to promote canine companionship for their community, and one decision was to form a nation in where dogs and humans all together establish a brand new nation. February 14th 2020, the Principality of Dogsville was formed, and there Princess Abby of Dogsville was crowned as princess of the newly formed nation. On April 17th 2021, the Kingdom of Dogsville transferred into a kingdom after it's significant evolution in the community's governance structure and a desire to formalize and enhance its identity to where Dogsville stands today.
