The Kingdom of Cyrillo-Konigsberg was founded in the year 1255, along with the historical city of Konigsberg the (Teutonic Order), which is now called Kaliningrad. The micronation declared independence from the Russian Federation on the 18 August 2022, and claims the territories of the Kaliningrad Oblast region, an exclave of Russia, along with exclaves in the USA and Spain.
It is ruled by a King ("Konig" in both English and Catalan), Napoleon IV, who rose into power through a coup in the year 2018 (The Great Coup), and has command of the Armed Forces, and the President (in both English and Catalan), President Baltimore who deals with much of domestic policy and was elected democratically in the year 2020. However, the two leaders collaborate on many issues. The Konig both lives and works in the Great Palace of Konigsberg, in the center of the city, and the president works there but lives in their own residence.
Anyone from any country and of any age can request citizenship through the official Konig citizenship request (online, linked here) and if accepted, will be granted a workers permit, a passport if needed, and a residence permit. Once citizenship is granted, the citizen may apply for a government occupation and must pay the demanded taxes (As of now there is no tax whatsoever in the country. In the application you will be asked about the languages you speak, your Email, Country of residence, Date of birth, Gender, and Name.
History
The Great Civil War (2008-2018)
The great civil war of Konigsberg was a major national conflict caused by the economic crisis of 2008. The kingdom was of the most affected economies by the crisis as the domestic trading between Konigsberg and South Latgale had came to a plateau as Konigsberg could no more supply transportation. This event led not only to the economic slump within the nation (and eventually a civil war) but also a major conflict with the nation of South Latgale as they had less of an oil supply. As the economic pressure kept on growing and getting worse for the population, socialist groups within the country started gaining popularity, since the country had consisted of a capitalist economy until that moment. As the tensions rose, small civil attacks throughout the year 2009 started happening, until finally, a great one in the palace of Konigsberg ended with the fatality of the then president, President Vladimir Quadruple along with a few civilians.
The vice president of Quadruple (Lola Firepit) was to finish her term of 1 year from December 2009 to January 2011, and struggle through the pressure until a new president (Algebra Rolexius), from an extreme capitalist party (DEMA) which had been gaining popularity, rose to power through a coup. As the economy continued failing and poverty levels skyrocketed, minor attacks were starting to become major guerillas on the palace, inspired by hatred towards the new government from the people of Konigsberg. This went on until the major incident of 2015, when Rolexius bombed the Konigsberg metro, at the "Catedral" station in the centre. This is when the tensions peaked and the current president (President Baltimore) gained popularity along with his party. While the president and his ideals gained popularity throughout the nation so did the current king (Napoleon IV) who officially rose to power through a second coup in the year 2018. The king and the government managed to impeach Rolexius, which led to Baltimore being elected and the government becoming majoritarily socialist. Trades slowly picked up after this event, leading to the end of the civil war and the economic crisis, but not the end of the conflict with South Latgale.
The Great Coup (2018)
As the civil war entered its tenth year, the starving peasantry grew tired of the constant warfare and economic crisis, and began to revolt. They attempted to install their own government, but it was rapidly crushed by a large army personally led by Vladimir Putin, a relative of Quadruple. But the discontent with the ultra-capitalist regime continued to grow, and Napoleon IV saw a chance to take power. He tricked the government into coming to the house of Pax Baltimore for dinner, and then pepper sprayed and arrested them with the help of the populace and certain disloyal units of the governmental guard. Once they were arrested, a kingdom was proclaimed. Napoleon IV promised to lower the prices of bread and other necessities and return the nation to its former Prussian glory. In 2020, Baltimore was elected president, riding a wave of popularity due to his views and role in the coup.
