The Regno de Canejan, more commonly known as Kingdom of Canejan is a micronation in w.France. The Kingdom claims that the town of Canejan in Gironde, France, is a independent state and wants to follow on the same footsteps as other city-states like w:Monaco or w:San Marino
The Kingdom works under a Absolute Monarchy, the leader of Canejan controls of all the operations of the town. They are the one who pratically control the country. Because of the rather young age of the country, no big change to the towns original laws have been made yet but that may be subject to change.
Due to the relative new nature of the micronation, it has not communicated with other micronations yet but plans to do so in the near future.
Etymology
The town name, Canejan, is in the Gascon language, a regional language from the South-West of France. It's exact meaning is unknown.
History
Humans have populated the kingdom since atleast the end of the 1st century thanks to Gallo-Romans relics found. in 1949, the town of Canejan suffered, like many others around it, the great forest fire of that year, 29 residents died that year due to the fire. In september of that year, Charles de Gaulle, the famous World War 2 French resistance leader, visited the town to pay tribute.
Politics and government
The kingdom is under an absolute monarchy similar to the previous monarchies that France lived through. The Monarch, Their Majesty Thomas the First has control over the micronational relations of the country. They are the one who are in charge of proposing (and accepting) new laws, listen to the citizens feedback and maintain a good relationship with the residents of Canejan.
Law and order
The law set in the Kingdom are pratically identical to the French laws but they are two exceptions to that: If a citizen is caught doing anything remotely homophobic, racist etc., The consequences they will face are immediate and more severe than in France.

Geography and climate
The Kingdom is mostly flat but the biggest characteristic is the forest of Canejan, a vast forest enjoyed by many residents of the Kingdom, mostly people who enjoy small walks. The forest is also home to the old mill of the Kingdom, which uses "L'Eau Bourde", the primary water source of the Kingdom.
Economy
As of the 5th of September, the Kingdom only uses euro. The Monarch is creating their Kingdom's own money.
