The Isle of Xlainia is a self proclaimed independent nation-state with claims in North America, or Pennsylvania, and Pluto. The capital of this sovereign state is the Royal City of Xlainia on the Isle of Xlainia. Timothy Blankinsop, the once Grand Duke of Richardstan, is the founder.
Xlainia is a seceded nation coming from the nation of Victoria, which seceded from the Grand Duchy of Richardstan. At the time of succession the ruling entity favored totalitarianism, a type of political power that favors one ruling power. It was soon changed to an oligarchy, a type of political power that appoints an all powerful ruler with close friends working in congress. This is what the political system is today.
The Congress of the Isle of Xlainia is made up of a group of 10 people. Every seat of congress must be filled or the congress will be halted for the length of time that a seat isn’t filled. The congress can pass laws by popular vote of the Xlainian people.

Etymology
The name Xlainian originated from the micronation destroyed by the Grand Duchy of Richardstan in the year 2020. The country fought hard against Richardstan and deserved tribute. The name can also come from the algebra variable of X and an added ending. It is also believed to come from the Hawaiian translation of Xlainia which means the ending of X. The name deriving from the micronation of Xlainia is more commonly accepted among the people.
Xlainia is the shorter form of the name the Isle of Xlainia which is a shorter form of the official name the Royal Isle of the Grand Duchy of Xlainia and surrounding territories. The longer name is only used on high authority documents like the Declaration of Xlainia while the shorter two terms are used on normal grade official documents. The shortest version is the one more commonly used by the people.
History
The history of Xlainia may not be a long one but it does extend into the history of Richardstan and Victoria. Most of its traditions and names come from those two nations.
Background
After reading many articles on this very website, Timothy Blankinsop decided to create his own micronation. It was originally called the Grand Duchy of Richardstan. Timothy named himself Grand Duke and took on the name of Richard I. During his term he created the entire political system on his own. He called this made up system "Timtolaryisim". This is where there is one ruler and if his name is Timothy, then he gets all the power as a dictator. If your name isn't Timothy then the political system is a parliamentary one with the Grand Duke as the head of parliament. Because of this tyrannical system, Richard was overthrown by the Victorian Political Party.
The Victorian Political Party was headed by the Secretary of Defense, Daniel Z (last names are not permitted by Xlainia). He had been trying to take the throne peacefully but couldn't succeed so he revolted. He brought anti-Timtolaryists with him to his weekly private visitation with the Grand Duke and removed Richard from the throne by threatening his life. He was forced to forfeit the throne to the rebels.
The Victorian Empire was the predecessor of the Grand Duchy of Richardstan. This era of the micronational world was more prosperous for Pennsylvania. An a accurate currency was established, the Victorian Stamp. A permanent population was created by Daniel Z. borders were established and nations were recognized.
