Unlike the Organization of United Micronations, the International Organization of United Micronations is a forever-existing (In other words, it doesn't change every year) Union of Micronations, though namely, ones that were made by college students. Like the other organization, the International Organization of United Micronations (code-named "The IOUM") tries to unite the many Micronations—new or old—under one banner, to ensure a safe existence.

On 11 August 2013, the "project" was cancelled, having been launched too early for any possible applicants to exist. The owner of the project formerly apologizes for giving too much hope. It promised that it would return, though it may end up like many broken promises before it.
