The House of Juul was created in 2018 when Valdemar I adopted the name Juul and established the Kingdom of Vendsyssel, thus creating a new royal house. Since Valdemar is the only person in his family named Juul, and since he has no issue, he is currently the only member of House Juul. His biological family is a part of the royal family, but not a part of the royal house. If Valdemar were to die without leaving any children, the House of Juul would cease to exist, however the throne of Vendsyssel would pass on to his older sister Josephine, which he has appointed as heir presumptive.
