The Lurdentanian House of Commons is the Singular Branch of Legislative power within the Empire. The House of Commons consists of members from all the Provinces of the Nation. The Provinces of Lachtoria, North Lurdentania, Eastern Myrth, Western Myrth, Furlong, Glochenspeer and Hazartica are all represented within the House.
The Speaker of the House of Commons is His Imperial Majesty Emperor Rory I, who was re-elected on the 1st Parliamentary session of the 6th Parliament.
The Prime Minister of the House is Her Gracious Excellency Prime Minister Katrina Corry, Archduchess of Furlong. Her Excellency has served in the position for 5 consecutive terms.
The Leader of the Opposition is His Imperial Highness Lord Matthew, Lord Prince of Terentia. The Lord Prince has been the Leader of the Opposition in the House for 6 consecutive terms, as leader of the Liberal Party.
Composition
The House of Commons consists of 7 seats. The Equity Party hold 3 seats, the Liberal Party hold 2 seats, the Conservative Party hold 1 seat and the final seat is held by an Independent.
The Equity Party and the Conservative Party are formed in a Coalition, making them have a Majority of 4 out of 7 seats.
In the 2020 Lurdentanian National Election, both the Equity Party and the Liberal Party won 2 seats, making the position of Her Excellency the Incumbent Prime Minister at risk. Luckily for the Equity Party, the Conservative Party joined their coalition. After the Lachtorian and Hazartican By-Elections, the Equity Party as able to win another seat, giving them a Minority Government (Regardless of the Conservative Parties Backing).
