The State of Halfasinteresting-stania was a short-lived country founded and dissolved on 14 March 2019, by Sam Denby (better known through his online pseudonym Wendover Productions). It was located in his recording studio, presumably in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Founding and Dissolution
The small state was founded by Sam Denby during an episode of Half as Interesting, "What Is the Shortest-Lived Country in History?" when Denby proclaimed:
"I declare this recording studio, with consent of its people - which is me - as the free and independent state of Halfasinteresting-stania!..."[1]
— Sam Denby, 2019
A couple of seconds later, in the same paragraph, Half as Interesting dissolved the state, stating:
"...Aaaand, never mind! We're dissolved."[1]
— Sam Denby, 2019
The state only lasted for 4.2 seconds.
Government
As the state was short-lived, there was no constitution drafted nor approved by the government. Considering Denby was the only citizen of the state, it is presumed that the state was a dictatorship. Furthermore, Denby had the power to dissolve the state, therefore he also is considered the head of state and government. There was no legislative nor judiciary body established.
Demographics
Population
Halfasinteresting-stania had a total population only 1 citizen, that being Denby. All of the population lives in the United Kingdom. Since the government only lasted so long, there were no citizenship laws.

English was the most commonly spoken language in Halfasinteresting-stania and all of the population speaks it. Furthermore, all of the population can also speak some French.[2][3]
Culture
Not much is known about the culture of Halfasinteresting-stania.

Halfasinteresting-stania produces the Half as Interesting show, as well as the Wendover Productions show.[4] Both are educational entertainment channels. The state has also partnered with other creators to create the Showmakers[5] and Extremities[6][7] podcast. However, other than the initial video about Denby proclaiming the state, there have been no mentions of the state since.
Sport
All of the citizens participate in whitewater kayaking,[8] though there has not been a national sport due to the short age of the state.
Location
There are currently no details regarding the exact location of Halfasinteresting-stania. However, it is presumed that it is close to Edinburgh, Scotland, since its head of state, Denby, lives there.[9] Furthermore, it was located in a recording studio.[1]

Edinburgh, the presumed location of Halfasinteresting-stania, is classified as an Oceanic climate in the Köppen climate classification. Edinburgh is a city which receives a significant amount of rain.[10]
