The Grand Duchy of Verdantia was a micronation formed on April 6, 2022 and dissolved September 24, 2022 located within the United Kingdom. The Grand Duchy, colloquially known as "Verdantia", laid claim to 3 islands in Portsmouth, UK and the unclaimed African region of Bir Tawil, with a permanent population peaking at two residents. The Grand Duke had also recently issued a statement claiming his intention to purchase a plot of land for his country.
Ever since its formation on April 6, 2022, the Grand Duke had remained anonymous and is noted to request to remain so even now - however, to his citizens, he did release Imperial Decrees and other documents. Verdantia, at the time of its dissolution, had a ratified constitution and an Imperial Code of Criminal Justice and an armed forces document which remains unfinished.
The Grand Duke had described Verdantia as "the first truly serious attempt at transforming a micronation into a macronation". He had stated his intentions for land purchase and getting construction companies to build houses and essential facilities (sewage, power, water, et cetera), whilst also maintaining a policy of militarism - unfortunately, his plans never came to fruition.
Politics
The politics of Verdantia is centred around the Grand Duchy and Imperial Household. The First Minister is the head of government and represents the country in all diplomatic affairs. However, the Grand Duke controls all military and economic affairs. There has yet to be an election in Verdantia.
Military
Verdantia has an Armed Forces comprised of three branches: the Army, the Naval Service and the Air Forces. While the three are all different in many ways, their organisation remains similar and they have good inter-branch relationships. The Verdantian Armed Forces is currently working out an deal with an unnamed supplier to supply Airsoft weapons to the Verdantian Armed Forces. It is expected that they will use the CYMA CM.520.

Currently, the population of Verdantia is at 2 people. To get Verdantian citizenship, at the moment only people personally inducted and invited by the Grand Duke may become citizens.

Foreign Policy
Verdantian foreign policy is, for the time being, focused around isolationism. However, it is expected that there will be a major shift in the near future from isolationism to becoming extremely involved in micronational affairs, and it is rumoured that the Grand Duke may reveal himself along with it.
