The Governorate of Lowenand, commonly known as Lowenand is the 7th largest province of Tyrillym. Lowenand holds the city of Clifhold which is the Governorate's capital. Additionally, several key forts are located within Lowenand such as Ft. Falls, Kovoshak, Irikos, and many more. Lowenand was first held by pan-Tyrillian authority in the spring of 2020 despite being discovered a year before by other pan-Tyrillians, on the 5 May 2020, Lowenand would be founded as a province upon the discovery of Ravine Ianshomo. Ravine Ianshomo would become a primary focus of the tribe for months during the summer and autumn of 2020, as many expeditions to the ravine were carried out. The first settlement would be Camp Sheyekey, however Dorchesterian explorers would quarrel with resistances against Dorchesterian settlement [a] in Sheyekey. Eventually in the late summer of 2020, Sheyekey was abandoned as the primary settlement. Several other small establishments along the Shi'a River were also dismantled by the unknown resistance force. In the autumn of 2020, during the reign of the First Shahawkian Empire, Bloodwood Overlook became the new primary focus in Ianshomo. During the Era of a New Dawn, Lowenand would then become the Conglomerate of Ianshak. After a hiatus, new explorers re-settled in the former area of Camp Sheyekey, establishing bridges, and new structures. In the winter of the same year, Clifhold was established becoming the final primary focus in Ianshomo.

Etymology

Lowenand got its name from the Old Dorchesterian word for binding. Originally, Lowenand was not a province, but a trail complex just north of Ravine Ianshomo. The binding is debated, it was either referring to the binding of the Lowenandic trail complex, or the binding of the woods and ravines spanning the Kingdom of Lowenand (province of Shahawkia) at Lowenand's provincial peak. To preserve history and continue the legacy, the province became Lowenand.

History

Early discovery period

Ianshomo became a territorial possession of Dorchester Tribe in early May 2020. A group of three Dorchesterian explorers discovered the woods following a discovery of an area to construct a new village. Originally, the area of discovery was the now destroyed Fort Xehan that sat on the Ianshaemic highlands to the north of the ravine at the mouth of the southern detachment of the Lowenandic hidden trail complex. The explorers discovered the ravine and focused their attention on what they called Ianshomo.

First establishments (Spring 2020)

The first settlement in the ravine was what Dorchesterians called "Camp Sheyekey." Established on 12 May 2020, it was located along the Shi'a river. Sheyekey was built upon brush and a fallen tree across the river. Sheyekey consisted of 3 tee-pee-like structures which were supposed to be get-away shelters for each of the three discoverers.

For months during the summer of 2020, Ianshaemic explorers would quarrel with an unknown resistance[b] force that would repeatedly dismantle Dorchesterian structures, laying them flat on the ground. Several other singular-tee-pee enclaves were established all along the River Shi'a.

Late 2020

In late 2020, the focus of the now Empire in Ianshomo was Bloodwood overlook, a fallen red tree that sat atop the northern slope of Ianshomo. The operation was never completed, but parts of the tree were operated as a fort.

Era of a New Dawn

The Era of a New Dawn followed the harsh winter of 2020. It began in the spring of 2021, and Ianshomo became the Conglomerate of Ianshak with a huge addition of a greater ravine complex that nearly doubled the landmass of the nation.

The Great Resurgence (Era of Reform)

The Great Resurgence (also known as the Era of Reform) was a period in spring 2022 where the nation exited inactivity and activity resurged. Like many times before with an alike post-hiatus situation, the Ravine would be at the pinnacle of the resurgence. Many new people were brought in and a watchtower was constructed along the path that crossed the River Shi'a and a bridge was constructed across the river. This however was eventually dismantled and fell apart.

Autumn - Winter 2022

In the autumn, new forces of exploration and construction were drawn in, and new forts were established like Fort Irikos and by this time the entire Ravine was thoroughly mapped and known by the explorers. Activity would increase and frequent trips of 2-4 would occur. In the winter, Clifhold was established. Clifhold sits on the peak of the Atachehen slope next to an exit into a flat, wide field, and at one end, Mt. Boyuvazh, and at the other, the Yeshomo branch of Ianshomo. Yeshomo was explored, as well as a connecting sewer system. It is at this time that under the watch of Lincoln Boggs, that HAM radios became prevalent in the explorations in Tyrillian territory.

Spring - Summer 2023

In the spring, Ft. Falls was founded and activity resurged. Later explorations would come and go, and the Tri-Tree point was established. Some Tyrillians would gold pan in the River Shi'a around this time, but usually to no findings. Frequent visitations and explorations occurred and ravine activity seemed to peak with little disruption in the building of structures in the Ravine.

Modern Day

The Ravine has several settlements in it, as well as the broader pan-Ianshaemic lands [c] Clifhold is the capital city of Lowenand and sits just barely in the Ravine Ianshomo, and is formerly the largest city in Tyrillym.

Geography and Mapping

The Ravine is a valley, so there is not much wind that comes through, thereby meaning the Ravine gets hotter temperatures as opposed to the rest of metropolitan territories. The slope to the north of the Ravine has historically been referred to as Kaleta Hill, or simply the Northern Hill. The slope to the south has historically been known as Atachehen Hill.

Culture

Lowenandic culture is not much different from Tyrillian culture overall. Lowenand has been a core piece of Tyrillian culture ever since 2020, which is why the traditional cultural aspects of Tyrillym are faintly echoed in Lowenand.

Tyrilika Apefthi is the standard written language in Lowenand, and Tyr'ilith'ii is the standard spoken language.

Sports

Ethelehn (Swordfighting) is the national sport of Tyrillym, and Lowenand has history of being a supplier of wooden swords for the Dorchesterian army.
