Governor (Imvrassia)

A Governor is a title to describe the head of the administration in a Theme.
An Imvrassian citizen who has the title of Count/Countess or Protosebastos/Protosebaste as also members of the Imperial House with the rank of Nobelissimos or Sebastokrator can be appointed as a Governor in a Theme. A Governor is appointed by the Crown and the length of his/her term is determined by his own desire to administer an administrative subdivision of the state as is the case of others administrative divisions. A Governor can appoint to each Archontia an Archon and his/her immediate assistant and deputy has the office of Chartoularios.
