George II, Duke of Dorset (George Thomas Franks; born 16 September 2007) is the current Duke of Dorset and sovereign of the Franks Family.

Born in 2007, he is a distant relative of both the Wills baronets and the Baron Franks, by his father and mother's lineage respectively. Subsequently, he is known to use the surname of his mother as opposed to his father as a tribute to her dynasty. He ascended to the Dukedom of Dorset upon the 21st of March 2022, revitalising the title after its extinction for almost two centuries, and declaring its self-determination as an honour sovereign from the British Crown.

George's reign has so far seen relative prosperity, as well as the creation of fundamental orders and institutions to serve his domain, notably the Lord-Lieutenancy and Chancellery of Dorset among others.

Early life

George was born on 16 September 2007, in Poole, Dorset to a moderate middle-class family. He is the second son of his line, though is the first legitimate child, his brother being born out of wedlock.

As a distant relative of nobility, there was little expectation that George would inherit any titles or honours. He received education in local public schools and academies, and from a young age excelled academically, taking an interest in literature and poetry, subjects he was encouraged to pursue by his mother and grandmother.

Reign

George declared himself Duke of Dorset on the 21 March 2022, reviving the formerly extinct title of the British peerage as a sovereign honour after nearly two centuries of its abolition. Within days, he had already created various institutions and offices, revitalising some from years past and newly forming others; these include the Lord-Lieutenancy of Dorset, the Order of Saint Wite and the Ducal Chancellery.

Personal life

Duke George is known to be of English, Scottish, Portuguese, Belgian and Egyptian descent. In faith, he is openly an Agnostic Theist, and views theology as an important pillar of both life and society, while not placing himself within any particular religious group. He has, however, been known to attend both Anglican and Roman Catholic church services both as community events and for ceremonial purposes.
