The Gaétan experiment was a nuclear research experiment that occurred on 4 August 2019 in the Yuousiaz, near the city of Gaétan in the west of the Quebecois FSR, which involed Smoke alarms containing Americium-241.

Overview

The experiment was a safety test on the radiation exposure given off from common home smoke alarms containing Americium-241, which was commonly used throughout the People's Federation of Quebec. The test was meant to be a simulation of a small scale nuclear reactor, by stacking multiple Smoke alarms on top of each other and red the levels of Radiation from a Geiger Counter and be reported on paper the results, however the experiment failed and was not carried out because of safety concerns about Americium-241 after doing research.
