The Friendship Ribbon of the Democratic Christian Republic of Melite was the lowest National Award of the D.C.R., awarded only three times annually to one nation collectively, just like the George Cross was awarded to the Island of Malta at the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The award was only given on St. Joseph the Worker's Feast (1/ 2 May), Founding Day (27 September), and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (8 December).
