Origins

The horizontal tricolour design of the flag was inspired by other neighbouring slavic countries' flags, most importantly, Bulgaria. The Bulgarian flag also has the same ratio of 3:5. Green, blue, and white, along with red, have always been colours that have represented the area and the people of Snagov. The current tricolour however was inspired from the Snagovian landscape, with green representing its forests and plains, blue representing its waters and the sky, and white representing the origin of the area's name - snow. The flag was adopted by the people on 18 June 2020.
