The Republic of Worrell, more commonly known as Worrell, was a micronation located in Pennsylvania, United States.

Etymology

The name Worrell originates from the name of a field near Crum Creek, which is a Creek that flows through the nation and forms part of the Worrell-American Border.

History

After the founding of the Republic of Worrell, the Republic quickly began to gain citizens, and the First Worrellian Presidential Election was held on the 5–6 April 2021, with a range voting system, and resulted with the election the President, Matthew Cunningham, as well as the founding of the Liberal Party of Worrell.

First flag of Worrell

On 1 May 2021, Worrell gained a 6th state, Norlands, and the flag was changed to include a sixth star, as well as adding 2 new stripes after a vote in the House of Representatives.

On 7 May 2021, Worrell officially made the Republic's Marseillaise (tune to the Worker's Marseillaise with new Lyrics ) the anthem of the Republic.

Government and politics

The government and constitution of the Republic of Worrell is based of the Republic of Texas, leading there to be many similarities to Texas and the United States Government.

Branches of Government

They are 3 branches of government: Legislative, Executive and Judicial, and according to the constitution "shall remain forever separate and distinct".

Legislative

The Legislature of Worrell is styled the "Congress of the Republic of Worrell", and the powers shall " be vested in a house of representatives". (The following is sections of the Constitution of the Republic of Worrell about the Legislative Branch) The members of the house of representatives shall be chosen monthly, on the first day of every month, until congress shall otherwise provide by law, and shall hold their offices one month from the date of their election. No person shall be eligible to a seat in the house of representatives until they shall have attained the age of thirteen years, shall be a citizen of the republic, and shall have resided in the state 2 weeks before the election. The house of representatives shall have 6 representatives, 1 per state until the population of the republic has reached 50 souls, after which Congress will provide how many representatives there will be. The Vice President shall also act as speaker of the house of representatives, but shall only vote if the house be equally divided.


Every citizen of the republic who has attained the age of eleven years, and shall have resided one week within the state where the election is held, shall be entitled to vote for members of the general congress.

Executive

No person shall be eligible to the office of president who shall not have attained the age of fourteen, shall be a citizen of the republic at the time of the adoption of this constitution, or an inhabitant of this republic at least two months immediately preceding his election. The president shall enter on the duties of his office on the first Monday after their election, and shall remain in office until their successor shall be duly qualified and inaugurated. The president shall hold their office for two months, from their inauguration to their successor’s inauguration. The congress shall have the sole power of impeachment with a majority of 2/3 in the house of representatives.

Every citizen of the republic who has attained the age of eleven years, and shall have been a citizen of the country for one week, shall be entitled to vote for the president. A vice president shall be chosen at every election for president, in the same manner, continue in office for the same time, and shall possess the same qualifications of the president. In voting for president and vice president, the electors shall distinguish for whom they vote as president, and for whom as vice president. In cases of impeachment, removal from office, death, resignation, or absence of the president from the republic, the vice-president shall exercise the powers and discharge the duties of the president until a successor be duly qualified, or until the president, who may be absent or impeached, shall return or be acquitted. The president, vice president, and all civil officers of the republic, shall be removable from office by impeachment for, and on conviction of, treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Judicial

The judicial powers of the government shall be vested in one supreme The Judges of the supreme court shall hold their office for a period of three months, and shall be eligible for re-nomination. There shall be 3 Judges of the supreme court, and each shall be appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the congress. All bills that are proposed in the house must be voted on with a majority before moving on to the congress, if a majority of the congress approves the legislature it shall be moved onto the president. The president may be able to veto the bill to avoid it from becoming law, but if the congress has a 3 / 4 majority vote on the bill again, it shall override the veto and become law unless deemed unconstitutional by the supreme court.
