For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild TBD 11.9.1952 Str-Ho. Bereit zum Dienst für Deutschland. Aus Erfurt, Sömmerda, Günstedt und Töttestadt waren die 14 Jungendfreunde- unter ihnen sieben Mädchen- die sich freiwillig zum "Dienst für Deutschland" meldeten und durch die FDJ-Kreisleitung Erfurt-Land am 3.9.1952 feierlich verabschiedet wurden.
