The Fiestan Kingdom sometimes called the Everlasting Fiesta, is a transcontinental self-declared sovereign state, often known as a micronation, located within the United States and Trinidad and Tobago. The Fiestan Kingdom consists of four noncontiguous territories, comprised of two Crown Territories, and two Unincorporated Territories. The largest territory is the Carolina Territory.
Etymology
Inspired by the name of the group that led to the formation of the Fiestan Kingdom, "Fiestan" comes from the "Fatboy Fiesta", "Fiestan" simply meaning "a member of The Fatboy Fiesta".
History
After it's formation, the Fiestan Kingdom spent most of its early days unorganized and chaotic. It took several years before any cohesion was accomplished with the formation of Imperial Houses, which allowed the delegation of power. Not too soon after, however, a split was formed between the members of the Fiestan Kingdom - a result of varying political beliefs and an assumed power difference between specific members.
The First Schism
The First Schism, sometimes called the Fiestan Civil War, was a major split that occurred during early 2021 after the leading member of the Opposition Party and Prime Minister had a "debate" over the effectiveness of worker unions. It soon devolved into an uncivilized argument, the Opposition Party leader throwing insults at both the Prime Minister and the Queen. By this point the Opposition Party had gained momentum within the Fiestan Kingdom and were, according to one of their own, looking for the perfect time to declare independence from the Fiestan Kingdom. The Oppositions Party's main complaint was their lack of equal power amongst other members despite them holding two court seats. Not long after the First Schism, the Opposition Party leader apologized to the Queen in private and then requested to discuss terms for their return. The Apology was accepted, and their request for equal power within the Fiestan Kingdom was granted, and the members returned.
The Second Schism
The Second Schism, sometimes called the Second Fiestan Civil War, was much the same as the first, with Opposition Party members claiming they were treated unfairly by members of the Fiestans of Yore. The Second Schism had a much longer lasting effect on the Fiestan Kingdom, with rumors being spread by the Opposition Party leader about the Queen. To re-unite the Fiestan Kingdom, the Prime Minister presented the Queen with an idea - unite the houses. Everyone would share an equal power, and despite the claims being largely disputed even within their own party, the Prime Minister and Queen approached the Head members of the Opposition Party and promised equal treatment - following this, the Houses of the Fiestan Kingdom were reunited once again on the 19 March 2022.
Arizona Territory Governmental Changes
During the month of May, 2023, the Magistrate and Court Representative of Arizona left the Territory - migrating to the Carolina territory and replacing a previous Court Representative there. As a result, the Arizona Territory lost its status as a Crown Territory as a result of a noble owning no property in the territory. This elevated the Carolina Territory to a Crown Territory, giving it larger representation in the Senate and Court.
On this day, 7 July 2023, the Territory of Arizona was reduced to the status of Unincorporated.
Suspension of Rule
During the year 2019, the Monarchs rule was temporarily suspended and the current Prime Minister was given de facto power. The suspension of rule was consensual, and served to ease tensions between the Monarch and the Public.
Politics and government
The Fiestan Kingdom is an Absolute Monarchy, and is structured around giving the Monarch absolute control while appeasing the public. The Citizens are given the power to vote on laws and ordinances which may have an impact on their lives via Parliament.
Monarch
The Monarch of the Fiestan Kingdom retains absolute power over the government, holding exclusive execute, legislative and judicial powers - while also retaining the ability to overrule both houses of Parliament. Despite this absolute power, the Monarch may choose to defer some decisions to the Prime Minister, who has the ability to enact laws and ordinances; the Prime Minister may however be overruled by either the Monarch or the Upper House of the Parliament.
Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of Fiestan Kingdom is an appointed position - the holder of this title chosen solely by the Monarch. The Prime Minister is trusted with enacting laws, managing portions of the economy and budget while also approving of laws, public ordinance and diplomacy. The Prime Minister may have decisions they make overruled by the Upper House or by the Monarch at any time.
Parliament
The Fiestan Parliament is the Bicameral Legislative body of the Fiestan Kingdom, consisting of representatives from each Incorporated Territory. The Parliament consists of the Upper-House (The Court) and the Lower-House (The Senate). Members of the Upper-House are appointed by the Monarch and Prime Minister; these members hold their positions for life, or until removed. Members of the Lower-House consist of elected representatives from the public. There are no term limits for Senate members, but will be removed if not re-elected.
Political parties
The Fiestan Kingdom is split between two Political Parties, the Fiestans of Yore and the Opposition Party. The Fiestans of Yore are a Monarchistic party with a liberal social & economic policy, the part is led by the original founders of the Fiestan Kingdom - hence the name.
The Opposition Party was formed in response to political disagreements and a perceived facade of inequality; the Opposition Party led both of the Schisms, and maintains a conservative social & economic policy.
