he Ethosian Defense Forces (EDF) are the primary land, naval, and aerial defense force of Ethosia. The sole purpose of the EDF is to act as a civil defense force combined of trained volunteers as part of the armed neutrality reforms of 2022.
History
Beginning in the early 2020's, the EDF was founded to act as a primary self-defense group of civil volunteers. This was to ensure that in all events, Ethosia would have some form of security. Despite being a defense force, President Sebastian had began pursuing a more interventionist policy following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This indirectly lead to the Ozark Crisis, a conflict between Ethosia and the Hellenistic Empire of Cimbrun. During the conflict, the EDF was mobilized for the first time in its history; however no fighting ultimately came from the Crisis.
Post Ozark Crisis
Following the end to the Ozark Crisis, the EDF was constitutionally affirmed to remain a defense force and could no longer be deployed or act in favor of a foreign conflict.
Modern Day
In the modern day, the EDF is primarily responsible for security and civil service.
