The Empire of Yata (Japanese (Kyujitai): 萬咫帝國, Japanese (Shinjitai): 万咫帝国), referred colloquially as Yata (YT), is a self-proclaimed sovereign state, commonly known as a micronation by external observers. Located in East Asia, it is landlocked almost completely within Japan. Yata is a Constitutional Monarchy, with the Emperor being the monarch. The capital and the largest city is Utsu-no-Miya, which is the national administrative capital of the nation. The Empire has two official languages, Japanese written in Hiragana, Katakana and Kyujitai Kanji script; and English written in Latin script, as well as two scheduled language; Hindi.
The Empire of Yata was established as an absolute monarchy in 2022, and was known simply as Yamatai, however after the promulgation of the Constitution on 11th November, the provision for forming an Empire was provided. It was renamed as Empire of Yamatai on the same day. On April 16, the Empress proclaimed the Empire of Yata.
Etymology
The name "Yata" is derived from the combination of two characters, 萬・万 (ten-thousand) and 咫 (an archaic unit of measure equivalent to the distance between outstretched thumb and middle finger, nearly 18 cm). The name was designed by Emperor Honmyo, and approved by the then Regent Meisho.

Government
Monarchy
The Empire of Yamatai is a Constitutional monarchy, highly influenced to by the system of hereditary monarchy in Japan. The position of the monarch, titled as 万咫帝國皇帝(translation: Supreme Emperor of the Great Empire of Yata) is the highest within the nation and they discharge their powers and functions as a constitutional monarch having full immunity over various executive duties. The position of the Emperor is hereditary unlike other nations, who is chosen by the preceding Emperor and has an indefinite tenure to rule, unless they abdicate. The monarch is the symbolic head of empire and is also considered as the de facto co-head of government especially considering their role in the government and the matters related to the cabinet. The current Empress is Ei-no-Miya Kuribayashi-nai-Shinno Emperor Honmyo whose rule began after the rule of Empress Meisho. The Emperor is often assisted by the The Prime Minister of the Grand Affairs of the Realm, who serves as the executive and administrative head and is a de facto position occupied by the member elected by the people.
House of the Councillors
The Prime Minister of the Grand Affairs of the Realm is the head of government of Yata who serves as the principal representative of the Emperor to the government's affairs. The prime minister is the leader of the house in the House of the Councillors to which the members are elected through a direct election. The prime minister leads an union council of ministers, which comprises of the union cabinet and the other ministers and serves as a body of collective responsibility. The Emperor appoints the prime minister upon being pleased that the individual to be appointed as the prime minister commands a simple majority of his people in terms of the members in the house. The prime minister can be removed through a vote of no-confidence motion in the house or by the Emperor. The current Prime Minister of the Grand Affairs of the Realm is Ei-no-Miya Kuribayashi O who was elected as the Prime Minister on August 18th, 2022.
Administrative Divisions
The Empire of Yamatai is a monarchy composed of three(s) (translation: countries), with one kuni serving as the miyako (translation: capital). Each country is a territory ruled by a 国造 (kuni-no-miyatsuko) (literal translation: creator of the country). The capital is an exception and is ruled by the Emperor. The Kuni-no-Miyatsuko serve as both administrators of their country and representatives from their respective countries, in the House of the Councillors. All Kuni-no-Miyatsuko collectively comprise the 豪族 (translation: Grand Lineage). The Capital is the region defined as the principal geographic location of the nation, which consists of all the Grand Imperial Palace. The national capital is Utsu-no-Miya.
The agata(s) are the capital regions of the countries of the Empire. The capitals are governed by the Kuni-no-Miyatsuo who are appointed by the Emperor on the advice of the provincial rulers. They serve in office for a term on the pleasure of the Emperor. They are responsible for maintaining law and order, security, etc. in the agata(s).
Military
The Imperial Army of the Empire of Yata is the sole military organization of the Empire of Yata. It comprises of the 帝國太陸軍隊 (Teikoku-Tairikuguntai) (translation: Ground Forces of the Empire)
The Imperial Army are led by the Grand Chancellor of the Realm in his capacity as the Commander-in-chief. The forces are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Army and National Defence. The Minister of Army and National Defense is the commanding officer of the combined services and is a rank held by a general-rank officer.

Currently, the Empire maintains relations only with Laudia.
National Symbols
The national symbols of the Empire of Yata are things which are emblematic, representative or otherwise characteristic of the Empire of Yata or Yata culture. Some are established, official symbols, including the flag of Yata, and governmentally-named symbols, such as the national flower and animal. Other symbols may not hold any form official status, for one reason or another, but are likewise recognised at a national or even intermicronational level. The symbols were adopted at various stages in the existence of the Empire of Yata and various rules and regulations governing their definition or use. The old flag was adopted on 12 November, 2022. The new flag was adopted on 6th September, 2023.

Languages
Languages spoken in the Empire belong two families, the major ones being the Indo-Aryan languages with 75% of the total population being its first language speakers; and Japonic languages with 25% of the total population being it's first language speakers. The Constitution of the Empire of Yata states that Japanese (standardized Kyujitai) and English shall be the official languages of the nation, with Japanese and English being used on all official documents. English is the most spoken language in the State with 100% of the total population being able to speak, communicate, write and interpret in it.
Apart from the official languages, the Constitution recognizes two other languages as scheduled languages, which is Hindi and Marathi. Hindi, Marathi and English are the most widely spoken languages with 100% population using it. Japanese is spoken by 25% of the population.
Religion
Religion in Yata is characterised by a two main religious beliefs and practices. The Constitution of the Empire states Shinto as the state religion. According to the 2022 census, 75% of the population practices Hinduism, and 25% adhere to Shinto.
Culture
Architecture
The architecture in the Empire is highly influenced from the Japanese wooden styled architecture, which is the most-famous architectural style on the island nation. The Imperial Palace, due to being located in Tokyo is also influenced by this style.
The houses constructed using this style are generally termed as sukiya-zukuri houses, consisting usually one or more storeys. The houses are built to be earthquake proof, and are made from materials like wood, bamboo and paper. The best example of this style of architecture is the Imperial Palace.
The general design of a residential building incorporates a living room, verandah, kitchen, several smaller halls, several bedrooms, shrine room, storeroom, several corridors and bathrooms. Some may additionally feature long corridors, connecting rooms. The roof is typically erected by high gables to overcome heavy rainfall in the region. The rooms have high ceilings with well ventilation and lots of space to move.
Performing Arts and Music

The music in Empire ranges over various traditions and regional styles and is heavily influenced by the Japanese traditional music. Japanese symphonies by Yuasa and Western Classical music by Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovosky are enjoyed equally, among other famous composers.
