The Empire of Onyonia, more commonly known as Onyonia, was a micronation in Washington State, U.S.A. The Empire was divided into 5 main territories. The nation was ruled by the Emperor, with individual territories having their own leaders.
Etymology
The name Originated from the word onion, having come from an inside joke around the time that the Oniottoman Empire was founded. The name Onyonia is a more serious-sounding version of Oniottoman Empire, despite modern Onyonia having less relations to onions.
History
The first form of Onyonia originated in 2019, with the creation of the Oniottoman Empire.
The Oniottoman Empire was more simulationist, claiming discord servers, Minecraft worlds, and other virtual territories.
In 2022, the Oniottoman Empire was reformed, as the Empire of Onyonia, which was more secessionist, being a medium secessionist micronation, claiming it is an independent nation but admitting that independence is nearly impossible for a micronation.
Around May of 2023, Onyonia became defunct due to the Ruler losing interest in micronationalism.

The five main territories of Onyonia were located in Washington State, three territories were in Thurston County, one was in Grays Harbor County and one in Mason County.

The currency of the Empire of Onyonia was the Onyonian argentum (Ꜵ).
It was equal to one-third of the United States dollar.

Flag
The meaning of the flag of Onyonia is currently unknown because it is based on a flag that was used by the Oniottoman empire, a previous version of the Empire of Onyonia. The creator of this previous flag never explained the meaning.
The current flag is the same as the old flag, but with a diagonal grey stripe added.
Culture and media
The culture of Onyonia was mostly organic, being made of many in-jokes from when the founders were in elementary school.
