The Silklandian Republic, sometimes referred to as the Third Republic to differentiate it from the previous two republics, and more often simply refered to as "Silklandia", is a micronation primarily based in North America within the continental United States, however the majority of citizens reside outside of Silklandian Territory. The Republic is currently run by Prime Minister Tanner, as well as the Prince-Regnant, Alexander I.
History
The nation was founded in the Summer of 2021, After future President/Monarch Ray(Alexander I), attended a crafts club. At this crafts club, they eventually introduced fabric for the attendants to use for crafts. Ray decided he was going to create his own country of the table he sat at, so that way he could seize all of the fabric for his "country". When he asked what the nation should be called, he received the response "Spinland", since fabric is often spun. However, he misheard this as "Silkland", and for unknown reasons decided to begin calling it "Silklandia". Sometime after his time at the camp was over, on July 26th 2021, he decided to formalize his nation by signing a self-proclaimed 'declaration of independence'. He soon after created a discord server for the nation. That same day, he invited his close friends Tanner and Joey to become citizens, and declared himself the nation's first president, deciding elections should be held every 3 months with a maximum term limit of 4 terms. After inviting some more of his friends, he decided to work with all of them to make the first constitution of Silklandia, which served as the nation's highest form of law up until July 2023. The constitution, among many other significant changes, declared that the President could not declare themselves dictator or monarch, or else they would be immediately impeached. After the signing of the constitution, not many noteworthy events happened, with the exception of massive territorial expansions of various varieties. At this time the capital was located at New Kinloss, however in Summer 2023 it would be moved to Wimberly, where it currently remains. However, some changes, or 'amendments', were made to the Constitution during this time. For example, the term of the President was extended from 3 months to 6 months, and President Ray would become monarch after his time as president was over, serving as a constitutional monarch.
Eventually, in the middle of 2023, President Ray realized that due to the low population of the nation, the election had been missed, and that he was still opperating under his 4th and final term. Upon realizing this, he decided to solve the issue by resigning to his Vice President, Tanner. Thus, he became Ray I of Silklandia. However, he later decided to change his name to Alexander I to sound more official and to honor his stillborn brother of the same name, who was posthumously honored by Silklandia with the title "Baron(Lord) of Wimberly". This title would later initially be given to his older half-sister. However, it was then given to his older half-brother due to them being much closer. Once Tanner ascended to the presidency, he decided to appoint well-respected citizen and friend HeisenbergerYT as his Vice. Knowing the nation was dying out, Tanner felt there was nothing he could do to save it. Eventually, it was summertime, and the Summer 2023 elections were happening. Tanner, wanting to continue his presidency, selected new and popular citizen Trapperdog to be his vice president candidate. Military commander Joey, (who had run in every election prior and lost) was looking to run again for Presidency. Joey selected long-time trusted citizen Starboy to be his vice. Due to this election being the first one without Ray running, the stakes were high because both parties felt they had a shot. Shortly after, they each established their political parties, the Continuationist Party (Tanner's party) and the Renovationist Party (Joey's party). After a long month of numerous debates, extreme amounts of campaigning, and many arguments, it was election day. In the end, it was a complete landslide victory of 8-1 for Tanner, Trapperdog, and the Continuationist party. Tanner and Trapperdog were inaugurated not long after, and at last, the Silklandian nation was at peace. With plenty of active citizens and plenty of work getting done, the nation was back...
Until one fateful day, August 1st, 2023. On a phone call between President Tanner and Vice President Trapperdog, Tanner informed Trapperdog of his plans to step down from his duties as President. Little is known about the phone call, but all we know is what happened next. At 11:10 PM EST, Tanner announced to the nation he was suspending his campaign for the January 2024 election and resigning from President. Trapperdog immediately became the newest president, and the downfall started. Many illegal citizens were brought in by Trapperdog to try to overthrow the rest of the government. Due to an error in the constitution, allowing the president to appoint and remove anyone from cabinet, the monarchy and cabinet were overthrown. TZC and Alexander I were kicked out of the country, and it became a dictatorship. Eventually, the server was handed back to Alexander I and democracy was restored. Tanner and Trapperdog both left on their own terms, and were permanently banned from returning. Following the fall of the democracy, it was restored and the executive position of President was retitled to Primie Minister, and Vice President to Deputy Prime Minister. An election was held between Joey and Treaper to become Prime Minister. At last, Joey won the election and served as president. Eventually, Tanner was allowed back to return on January 21st. However, Trapperdog was still banned from coming back. On July 21st, after American political drama, there were talks of suspending Silklandian democracy. However, Alexander I made an announcement that they will not suspend democracy, and a Summer 2024 election would happen. Immediately following, Tanner announced his return to running for office, and selected his new candidate to run with, Colton. Joey stepped up as well and announced his run for office. He decided to run with Treaper. On July 23rd, Joey announced he would be suspending his campaign, and he endorsed Treaper to run for president. Treaper then stepped up to run for Prime Minister. He selected financial investor Riyin to run alongside him as Deputy Prime Minister. A debate was held the same day, which many would agree Tanner won.[1]

Silklandia primarily recruits citizens via recruiting programs in discord servers, however originally the country consisted entirely of just close friends and trusted associates. Most of the citizens interact and engage with each other practically solely through the nations Discord Server, however a select few members know each other in real life.
