The Geniocratic Republic of Arconia, more commonly known as Arconia, is a micronation in the United States of America. Arconia is currently a pre-independence state located in a secret bunker in America. While the declaration of independence isn't planned until 20 March 2024 this micronation has been in the throws of it's planning phase since September 2023.
Arconia is currently under a temporary constitution that gives it's president full control of the nation. However, this constitution expires either: 49 years after independence is declared, or once the population, economy, and territory is big enough to be stable and fairly self-sustainable. The permanent constitution is being drafted and includes a vote for a board of 12 presidents where all politicians who run must pass tests certifying that they know how to run a nation.
Arconia is a friendly and open nation that will discuss with any other micronation. However, it is a serious micronation and will only enter treaties with other serious micronations.
Etymology
The idea of Geniocracy comes from Raelism. While the president doesn't believe in raelism he does support the ideas of geniocracy and thus wanted his micronation to be one. No one is overly sure where "Arconia" came from but when proposed amongst potential citizens the name stuck. There is no relation to previous nations (micro or macro) or the building in the TV show OMITB.
History
Arconia is a pre-independence nation. This time period is a very fuzzy one in which documentation is only just beginning and lots of planning and alterations are being made. This micronation is still trying to get its feet under it before it declares independence.
One of the first major events in Arconian history occurred on Januaro 24th, 0 (January 23rd 2024). On this day President Cartero Aldridge began creating/legalizing the political parties of Arconia. 3 parties emerged based on approaches to schooling, propaganda, and geography. However, on Januaro 31st, 0 (January 30th 2024) this decision was reversed as most local governments are to be set up as direct democracies and enough stop gap measures like proportional representation and multiple voting will be put in place to render the need for parties almost useless.
On Januaro 23, 0 (1/24/24) Sinjorino Layla Rossi became the first government worker other than Cartero Aldridge. She took the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On Januaro 30th, 0 (1/29/24) The designs for basic starter housing on board the sea stead were finished marking a milestone for Arconia in its slow march to true freedom.
Politics and government
The current temporary constitution has very few parts and states that all power lies in the hands of the President. However, the permanent constitution is being drafted to contain a board of 12 presidents to wield executive power, a house of creative's to legislate law, a multitude of ministries to aid the government in executive, judicial, and legislative capabilities, and a Supreme Court to make sure the law is applied accurately and the constitution obeyed.
Early government
While Arconia was young before the temporary constitution was enacted there were a number of proposed government forms. Each was debated in this order:
Finally the idea of a geniocratic republic was settled on. However pure Geniocracy as postulated by Raelians was not sufficient so some alterations are being made.
President
Currently the temporary constitution says that the president
"Shall hold all governmental powers including judicial, legislative, and executive until such a time as the nation is big enough to support whatever fully written constitution is decided upon."
There is one other provision under which this would change.
"In the event that 49 years have passed since the day of independence this constitution shall dissolve and the new one shall take effect immediately."
Board of Creatives
Currently the legislature has yet to be created but it will be a unicameral legislature with the power to vote on proposed laws. Each voting region will be proportionally represented by 5 Creatives. While it is unicameral the Board of Creatives has a "Cabinet" which will include the presidents of every major labour union, charity group, and other NGO. The purpose of this cabinet is to form a direct route from the people to the government.
Law and order
Currently all law is written by the president and those who break the law will be tried before him and punished as he sees fit. However, with a goal of being open to new ideas and in order to avoid becoming a military dictatorship the temporary constitution says that all laws must be made publicly, all trials are to be public, the right of habeas corpus be given to everyone, and no ex post facto laws may be passed. Military
Acronia is generally pacifist and thus all it's potential military resources will be used for defensive means and emergency relief programs only.

Ministries
Currently the only position outside of President is the Minister of Foreign Affairs. However, the constitution has provisions for a multitude of ministers to be voted for.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The ministry of foreign affairs is responsible for proposing legislation about foreign affairs, helping to enforce foreign policy rulings, advising the president during times of crisis and acting as a head diplomat during formal meetings in the Geniocratic Republic of Arconia. It was established on 23 Januaro 0 (24 January 2024) under the Ministry Act to manage Foreign Affairs.

Geography and climate
Not much climate data is available yet but the government is very interested in determining the climate of the seastead location. Being in the equatorial doldrums means there will be lots of sun with little wind or tide.
Economy
The economy is currently nearly non-existent in Arconia but plans are in process to mint "Arconian Marks" for transaction and start small business within the nation's borders.
Culture
Arconia has a flourishing culture despite it's youth. It celebrates holidays from Christianity, Esperanto, the World Calendar, Nazgonism, and it's own unique ones. Arconia has a polychronic view of time and is somewhat lax in its view of what is and isn't acceptable. When it comes to work Arconia tries to reduce the amount of time spent working as much as possible in order to free up time for other hobbies. Education is highly prized by Arconia and the president is currently working on make a curriculum that will adapt to the pace of all learners while still propelling the youth on a track to success. The main language of Arconia is Esperanto with English as an acceptable alternative. Sports are one of Arconias main way to connect with others and many new/invented sports are practiced in Arconia.

Sports
As discussed above sports are a really big part of Arconia. One sport in particular stands out as the "national sport" and this is Three-Ball. Created by Cartero Aldridge it involves a small court with a goal on one side. Each team gets the opportunity to shoot 3 shots at the goal before switching who is on offense and defense. Alongside Three-Ball, almost 200 different sports are recognized and encouraged by the Arconian Government.
