The Federation of Saikos, more commonly known as Saikos, is a micronation Founded in 2024 as a response of the current Head Ambassador’s desire to create change within the world.
The Federation of Saikos has established itself within the micronational community with a strong desire to collaborate and provide diplomatic assistance to those in need. Examples include Ironland and The Kingdom of Berkner.
Etymology
The Name “Saikos” stems from a brainstorming session within the Saikosian Government. A direct translation of “Saikos” from Saikosian to English results in the following:
“Sai” - Land

History
The Federation of Saikos, more commonly known as Saikos, is a micronation Founded in 2024 as a response of the current and first Head Ambassador’s desire to create change within the world. The current and first Head Ambassador said the following:
“Change is a powerful tool. It can be used for good such as building homes for those without shelter, or by rehabilitating people. It can also be used for evil, and used to justify crime and destruction and genocide, all of which should be avoided. Here today, I believe that change can be used to create a new state. A federation in which each province and district within the state has autonomy over some of the minor issues that divide us. Change, has birthed The Federation of Saikos.”
The Federation of Saikos has rapidly established itself within the micronational community with a strong desire to collaborate and provide diplomatic assistance to those in need, such as Ironland, Januartania and even The Republic of Molossia.
On September 3rd 2024, Tox1cShark7 contacted Kevin Baugh of Molossia, firstly proclaiming the fact that Saikos officially recognises Molossia as an independent state. Secondly, she asked what the best way to get territory was. Kevin replied stating
“Greetings and thank you for introducing me to your nation, the Federation of Saikos, it is an honor. You may rest assured that the Republic of Molossia is an informal friend to your nation. Regarding your question, the best way to obtain territory for your nation is of course to buy some. Understanding that that is not always possible, claiming your current home as the home for your nation is the usual option; to go further you can claim public land such as a park or wilderness area. I hope this helps! Regards, His Excellency President Kevin Baugh, Republic of Molossia”
Politics and government
Head Ambassador
The Head Ambassador of The Federation of Saikos is responsible for officially signing in new policies and procedures. They are to represent the country domestically and internationally. They have the power to call general elections. The Head Ambassador is also responsible for the day to day operations of the country as a whole. They are elected every 6 years with no limit number of terms
Administrator
An Administrator is responsible for a province in Saikos, functioning like a governor. They are responsible for the operations of each state but have little to no authority in regards to the actions of other provinces unless given that power under the command of the Head Ambassador. They are elected every 3 years with a term limit of no limit on number of terms. An Administrator can approve or reject new laws as well as repeal them within their province. However, these laws can be immune to alteration or rejection or be vetoed by The Head Ambassador.
Legislative Assembly
The Legislative Assembly is formed of a maximum of 15 representatives. They are to not be appointed based on political leaning but instead in regard to their experience and knowledge. The Branch is responsible for working with the executive branch to ensure a law has minimal loopholes, does not contradict other law, and remains constitutional. Each representative may be a part of the assembly for a maximum of 20 years and may resign as they please.
Political parties
Saikos has a few guidelines about voting and political parties. One must be at least 16 to vote in a district election. One must be at least 17 to vote in a province election. One must be at least 18 to vote for a Head Ambasador.

Law and order
Laws can be amended, approved or rejected by popular vote in the Saikosian Parliament.
Criminals are to be given sentences justified by whether the crime was planned, the impact of the crime on the victim or their associates, how many crimes were committed and the extent of the crime.
Criminals are to be preferably rehabilitated but in extreme cases this may not be possible. The death penalty is not to be applied. Punishments for crimes can be as simple as a small fine for minor offences or a brief period of home arrest or probation but can be up to life imprisonment in a facility (with a “life sentence” being set as the remainder of the criminals life).
Military
The Federation of Saikos has no overall military, instead opting to resolve conflicts exclusively diplomatically. However, The Osnium Province is in possession of numerous occult scriptures and tools.
Foreign relations
The Federation of Saikos has a foreign policy described as “diplomatic and compromising”. It takes care not to offend representatives of other nations and tries to build positive relations with countries it is ideologically compatible with.

Geography and climate
Saikos has a relatively flat geography, having no mountains or hills. It does however have lush ecosystems filled with trees, ferns and shrubs.
In regards to fauna, small birds such as robins, crows, ravens, magpies and pigeons are common, as well as butterflies such as the monarch butterfly, although sightings of these have become sparse throughout the years.
The flora of Saikos is diverse, for it is home to several species of moss, tree, flowers, ferns, fungi and other plants.
In regard to climate, it fluctuates throughout the year. The highest recorded temperature in Saikos was 34.8 degrees centigrade in 2022. The lowest observed temperature was -16 degrees centigrade.
Usually the temperature ranges between 5 degrees centigrade to 22 degrees centigrade through the year, although higher and lower temperatures are not unheard of.
Saikos generally has a typical precipitation rate comparable to other temperate regions.
Economy
The Saikosian economy is largely based around trading such as barter between people and nations as a whole. Furthermore, the Saikosian Shilling is equivalent to $6.34. Its subunit, the Saikosian penny is equivalent to $0.0634.
Culture
Society in Saikos revolves around etiquette. Politeness is a virtue within Saikos. Furthermore, it revolves around creativity and confidence and respect to others and oneself.
The language of Saikosian is a conlang created by the Head Ambassador and her associate, taking roots from Latin, French, English, Spanish and other Romance languages like German. The art style of Saikos has no official form, although art is often made from craft and/or digitally.
Holidays
While many nationally recognised holidays in Saikos are met with parties, feasts or games, a few are simply days of recognition of years gone by, for some days are Archival Holidays which exist solely so Saikosian don’t forget the most important dates of all - times of merriment and celebration.
