Rossalia officialy the Commonwealth of Rossalia (Portuguese: Comunidade de Rossália) is a landlocked lusophonic micronation, located in the north of Paraná, in South America. The country has two enclaves, both encircled by Brazil and situated in the city of Arapongas. At 532.988 square meters (0.53 square kilometers), Rossalia has only 3 registred members, but a population of between 2200 to 3500 people. The country's capital and most populated settlement is Città Rossa. Portuguese is the national and one of the country's two official languages along with English. Venezuelan Spanish and Haitian Creole are regionally recognized languages. Rossalia has an cultural basis in the mixed eurodescendant and native regional cultures of northern Paraná, with influence from several other cultures.

Etymology

The name Rossalia comes from the Italian Rosso, which means red, in reference to the reddish soil found in the region. In a more literal way, Rossalia means "red land".

History

The Commonwealth was founded in June 13, 2024 by King João and King Consort Rafael, originally as a mere concept, but being conceived as a micronation in September 2024, declaring its emancipation as an independent state.
