The Republic of Thanin, more commonly known as Thanin, is a is a landlocked micronation and enclave within Phrae Province, Thailand. The country is divided into four states, each of which has a governor who also serves as the President. It was established on 7 May 2023 with Apichat Methini as the founder and first president.

Thanin is a unitary presidential republic, where in the head of state and government is the president who is elected by the people through a democratic process. The country has Thanian National Assembly as the legislative body responsible for creating and passing laws. Thanin's administration welcomes foreign relations and aims to establish constructive ties that benefit Thanin's economic growth, national security, and global standing.

Etymology

The name "Thanin" comes from the Thai word "ธานิน," Which means large city. Referring to Thanin's Capital, Ratchatani. Which is Thanin's Largest city.

History

Pre-Thanin (April 2023 - 7 May 2023)

Thanin was first started just as a funny idea from Apichat Methini, but later the idea slowly became serious. The flag and Coat of arms were designed at around this time.

Establishment of the Republic (7 May 2023)

On 7 May 2023, Apichat Methini finished drafting the constitution of the Republic of Thanin, And officially established Thanin as a Unitary Presidental Republic state with him as the first President of the Republic.

Thanin is in rapid development led by Apichat Methini, to be equal with other micronations around the world.

Government and politics

Thanin is a republic with a presidential system, The President of Thaninis the head of state and head of government, the commander-in-chief of the Thanian National Armed Forces, the director of domestic governance, policy-making, and foreign affairs, and the governor of all four states of the country. The president may serve a maximum of two consecutive four-year terms.
