The Republic of Riveria, more commonly known as Riveria, or the Old Republic of Riveria by modern Riverian officials, was the Riverian micronation that officially existed from 2021 until its reorganization on 3 May 2023 when the new Riverian Constitution was ratified. It's successor, the Kingdom of Riveria, was de facto founded in late 2021, while the Republic of Riveria was still the de jure state at the time. It only had a population of two at it's height, with both of them belonging to the two presidents, Dameon Towsned and Aiden Russell.

Riveria had a diarchic form of government, which means there are two leaders with shared power. Both leaders had the title of president. it was also a non-partisan, meaning that it had no political parties present.

Riveria was eventually abandoned in mid 2021, but was de facto reformed into The Kingdom of Riveria, in late 2021, until it was officially reorganized in 3 May 2023.

History

Foundation

The micronation was founded by two teens, Dameon Townsend, and Aiden Russell. It was an idea thought up by Dameon after reading information on these things called "micronations". It was officially founded sometime in early 2021 (exact date is unknown), a flag was designed using pixel art and even a national anthem was chosen based on Barney & Friends theme song. While it did not start out that serious and any activity format. The two still continued to use the nation in online game platforms such as Roblox, more specifically Military Warfare Tycoon.

Going inactive

Riveria went inactive not long after being founded. In summer of 2021 a model Minecraft world was created based on the micronation, having the same capital city, Triple Towers, and military, but had a different government type, this version was still a presidential system, but it wasn't a diarchy like the actual Riveria was.

Dissolution

The Republic of Riveria was de jure dissolved on 3 May 2023 when the Riverian Constitution was ratified, making the Kingdom of Riveria the micronation's de jure state and turning it from an absolute monarchy to a semi-constitutional monarchy.

Politics and government

Riveria's government initially consisted of two leaders, each with title of president, the small population size makes it difficult for any decision to be made. Because of this, them two had de facto legislative power. Making Riveria a de facto personalist dictatorship with the two leaders making all decisions with no restrictions or elections. Riveria also had a de jure a federal internal structure, but because of the small size and lack of administrative regions, it de facto functioned as a unitary state, similar to some macronations today, such as Russia.

Head of state/government

The two leaders of Riveria had very basic responsibilities, they were the executive branch of government, as well as the commander of the armed forces. They were also had de facto legislative power being the only two citizens at the time. with there being two leaders titled head of state, the authority switches between the two, depending on who was active at that given time.

Legislature

The legislative branch unofficially belonged to the two presidents, they made all of the decisions and all of the rules.
