The Republic of Norsuff

The Norsuffian mainland is located within the British isles. To be specific, within the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. The mainland is completely landlocked, and consists of 4 territories: Westershire, Northold and 2 uninhabited territories named the Southern plains and Falkmoor. The Norsuffian museum of the past is one of the most influential buildings in Norsuff, since it contains all the info and artefacts found by, or from the Republic. The museum contains old notes, test currencies, fossils and much more including items from the creation of Norsuff.

The former ruling power was the Diarchy of King F and King H, however the nation has diverted to being a democracy with President F in charge. The current capital is the largest city in the republic, Westershire (population of 4.5). It is possible that in the future the capital may change to Northold, the second largest city. The Republic is not currently aligned to any political beliefs or systems however this may change in the coming months.

Etymology

The name "Norsuff" comes from a mix of the two English county names of "Norfolk" and "Suffolk", where the Republic is found.

History

Establishment

The nation was officially founded in late 2022, after a meeting of the two former royals. These founders were determined that this would become a diarchy, with the duo in rule. At its creation, the Republic had 2 members.

Initial period

The first year and a half of the existence of Norsuff, the creation of currency, passports and laws were slow. However after December 2023, when the republic of Norsuff attended the Digi Micro Summit's december summit they decided that things had to be done. So they set out to create currency, which is now known as the Norsuffian crown, a law book and much more.

Current period

The republic now has a fully established law book, military and law enforcement. The Norsuffian crown is still in the designing phase, however it is set to be released soon. Currently the population is 8.5 (as according to the 25/06/2024 Norsuffian census) and is hopefully set to grow in the upcoming years.

Culture

The national foods of Norsuff are Kettle crisps and Tobelerones, to represent the freedom in the country. Our national animal is the cat, specifically a cat named "kiki" owned by our current president. The main language in Norsuff is English. However the population understand many other languages including russian, ukrainian, german, spanish and more. There is also plans for a Norsuffian language. The republic of Norsuff uses the Gregorian calender as the main calender for the state and everyday usage.

Economy

The official currency of Norsuff is the Norsuffian crown (NSC) however GBP is used in normal daily life. The Republics main source of food and recourses apart from that bought at shops are the areas of Southern plains and Falkmoor, which are agricultural areas.

Citizenship

Currently, citizenship is strictly for those already in the republic.
