Etymology

The name of Quartzia comes the rock quarts, mainly because it is common, and there is a lot of it.

History

Quartzia was established in February 4, 2024. This micronation was originally called Clonesia when it was a, oligarchy. The Monarchy of Quartzia was made because of the founder's interest in micronations and creativity. When a he found a series of a person making a micronation, which sparked him to try and improve his micronation. Later on Feb 17, 2024 he declared war on a micronation called the Tomlands. Luckily, they declined the first request.

The Tomlands War Request

On March 10, 2024 the Tomlands were forced to go to war with Quartzia. At this time, the war hadn't happened and one they were forced to go to war, the micronation was reformed. After people had been told, the Quartzians lost a citizen because they decided to move to the Tomlands because of the war. Though this would make even teams, the Quartzians had the leader and the new general of the military. The leader of the Tomlands was once the general of Quartzia's military, General Air. After a while, both teams chose their gear and weapons for battle. Everyone was ready for battle.

The Tomlands War

Before the war started, the Quartzians strategized for 1 minute before battle. The Tomlands also strategized before battle. After a few more minutes, the battle started. It started off with the Quartzians running into battle. After that, King Chael I ran to get the Tomland's stick. Each team had a stick which they had to protect. When he got it, he brought it to Elig to use Elig for breaking the stick. Then the Tomlands noticed and got Quartzia's stick. When he got the stick , he borke it and the Tomlands won the battle. As promised, the Quartzian king let the Tomlands take a third of the land, specifically Elig.

Politics and government

This micronation is a monarchy mixed with a military dictatorship, mainly because we have a small amount of citizens. Monarchy was mainly for simplicity of a basic kingdom for one person to be a king because usually autocracies failed.

Early Government

When it was first established, Quartzia was a oligarchy. The kind of oligarchy is unknown, but at the time, it was figured out. It was run by two people that were the founders. Currently, it is run by the first founder. The first founder chose the kind of government, as micronations were a previous study of his.

Administrative Regions

Monarchy of Quartzia is a federation and has 3 different regions: Chab, Elig and Orig. Chab is marked by its tree, which is thinner than the others. Chab is on the left of Quartzia. Elig, which is now run by the Tomlands has the second largest tree in this micronation. It is near the middle, has a lot of sticks and has birds around it sometimes. Finally, there is Orig. Orig has the biggest tree with some swings and is often used by squirrels to hang out. It is used for swings and throwing things.

Tomlands-Quartzian Empire

On the day of March 11, 2024 the Tomlands leader and the Quartzia leader partnered up in diplomacy to form the Tomlands-Quartzian Empire. They this temporary solution to prevent any further wars upon these two micronations. A day after the Tomlands war, King Chael I wanted his new neighbor country as an ally. While explaining, the Tomlands leader suggested the idea of acting like Austria-Hungary and become one unified nation. Later, the Tomland's leader deformed the Tomlands on March 16, 2024.

Military

Here we have a small military. It contains two branches. Currently an air force is in the works but has a basic prototype.

Army

Our army uses sticks and rocks. Sticks are a melee weapon while rocks are more long range. Certain rocks like quartz are sharper rocks are prohibited for throwing and can get them into jail. Sticks must be at least one and a half feet long for use, otherwise they have to be used for practice, throwing or no use at all. Other stuff like nunchucks have been used in war and are used today.

Air Force

King Chael I built a prototype plane called the Quarfip. The Quarfip, nicknamed the "A1" first flew on 3/21/2024. It was made of basswood and cardboard. The basswood made the actual plane, while the cardboard was to prevent it getting tail heavy. It took 2 attempts to make this 25 inch plane. On the first attempt, it was tail heavy. After adding more wait to the front, it glided successfully.

Leaders

King

First of all, we have the king of the micronation. As said in the politics section, our government is a monarchy mixed with military dictatorship. The king fully runs the military and chooses the other leaders like the general.

General Air

General Air was the general of the army and the future air force. Though he has no real air force training, he was picked after some deciding. General Air was the first member of the military, excluding the king. Soon after leading his country, the Tomlands in war he retired.

Culture

We have part of our own culture and our whole normal culture. The national animal for the Monarchy of Quartzia is a cat. A house cat to be specific. Though we don't have any pets, cats and dogs are animals that the king and citizens love. Cats were chosen because we see more cats than dogs here in Quartzia. The official language is English, but the second official language in German.
