Kingdom of Jörð

The Kingdom of Jörð is a constitutional monarchy, established in 2023, with a mission to revive the legacy of the North Sea Empire. The Kingdom, whose citizens are referred to as Neo-Norsemen, is distinctive for its blend of historical Norse traditions and modern democratic principles. It lays claim to the islands of Sol-som, Kaunde-som, and Kaech’om-som in the East Sea, collectively known as the Som Islands, and the disputed Fiery Cross Reef in the South China Sea.

History

The history of the Kingdom of Jörð is deeply intertwined with the North Sea Empire, a realm that once comprised parts of present-day England, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden under the rule of King Cnut the Great in the 11th century. The North Sea Empire was renowned for its maritime dominance and exploration spirit. However, its influence waned and dispersed following King Cnut's death.

Centuries later, the establishment of the Kingdom of Jörð marked an effort to rekindle the legacy of the North Sea Empire. The Kingdom was created with an ambition to merge the spirit of exploration and navigation characteristic of the Norsemen with the principles of contemporary governance, accountability, and representation inherent in a constitutional monarchy.
