Buczkovia, officially The Kingdom of Buczkovia, is a Micronation located in the United States, specifically Northeastern Illinois, within the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Buczkovia is an absolute monarchy run by its king, King Anton of Buczkovia, as well as six branches of government managed, funded, and overseen by the King himself. Buczkovia has official Micronational relations with multiple Micronations, and serves as a trusted ally to all who side with the Kingdom. Buczkovia encompasses about 1600 square feet of land, and consists of one subdivision; Buczdomus, which is also the Micronation's capital. Buczkovia was founded on 23 January 2023 by its current leader, King Anton Buczko.

Etymology

The word Buczkovia is derived from the last name of Anton James Buczko, the current king of Buczkovia. During the establishment of Buczkovia, King Anton personally chose the name of Buczkovia in commemoration of the Buczko Family, of which King Anton originates from. Buczko itself is a derivative of the name Buczkowski, which comes from the word "buk", meaning "beech tree" in Polish.

History

Buczkovia was created on 23 January 2023 by Anton Buczko. Anton's personal place of residence, where Buczkovia was created, was chosen to be the site of Buczkovia's first settlement, Buczdomus. Succeeding the settlement of Buczdomus, Anton was crowned as the first king of Buczkovia and the Duke of Buczdomus. Shortly after Anton's crowning, on 24 January 2023, Buczkovia's military was established. On 25 January 2023, the Buczkovian Supreme Senate (BSS), Buczkovian Foreign Relations Committee (BFC), and the Buczkovian Judiciary Senate (BJS) were implemented. Finally, on 26 January 2023, the Buckovian Medical Corps (BMC) and the Government and Welfare Corps (GWC) were added as the final branches of the Buczkovian Government. Buczkovia's constitution was ratified on 7 February 2024. Buczkovia's national colors are blue and yellow, and some symbols of Buczkovia include: The Buczkovian Eagle, The Buczkovian Tricolor, and the Buczko Family Coat-of-arms.

Government

Buczkovia is an absolute monarchy, ruled by a single king and six branches of government. Buczkovia's current king is King Anton Buczko, and Buczkovia's governmental branches are as follows: The Buczkovian Military, The Buczkovian Supreme Senate, The Buczkovian Judiciary Senate, The Buczkovian Foreign Relations Committee, the Buczkovian Medical corps, and the Government and Welfare Corps. These six branches of government are all enforced and ruled by King Anton.

The Buczkovian Military

The Buczkovian Military's purpose is to protect over all of Buczkovia, its people, and its allies. The military is split into three separate branches; The Army, The Navy, and the Air Force. The Buczkovian Army is the main fighting force of Buczkovia. The Army has around 100 pieces of weaponry in its control, ranging from plastic toy guns, to realistic metal replicas. As of 24 January 2023, the Army has zero active personnel, and one reserve personnel. Since Buczkovia does not have an active police force, the Army is responsible for law enforcement. The Buczkovian Navy defends the shorelines of the waters near Buczkovia. The Navy shares its weaponry and equipment with the Army, and does not have access to any ships or boats. Attempts are being made by King Anton to enlarge the Navy, and increase its role in Buczkovia's military. The Buczkovian Air Force secures Buczkovia's skies and deals with threats from above. Much like the Navy, the Air Force shares its equipment with the Army. The Air Force consists of around 5 drones. Attempts are also being made to enlarge the Air Force.

Non-Military Entities

The Buczkovian Supreme Senate is responsible for making and passing the laws that make Buczkovia run. The Senate is composed of one senior member and multiple advisors. The Senate also works in part with the Foreign Relations Committee in order to pass large scale laws, like declarations of war and friendship. The Buczkovian Foreign Relations Committee is responsible for any political action involving foreign Micronations: their government, their leaders, and their representatives. The purpose of the committee is to peacefully interact with other Micronations in order to form alliances and to garner more attention and support to Buczkovia. Buczkovia has agreed to mutual recognition treaties with multiple other Micronations, those being; Esnya, Cocklpot, The Sabarian Federation, New Scadania, Airrintania, and The Monarchist State of Vardena. The purpose of the Buczkovian Judiciary Senate is to interpret the fairness of laws passed by the Senate, as well as resolving disputes regarding these laws and decisions. Like the Senate, the Judiciary Senate is composed of one senior member and multiple advisors. The Buczkovian Medical Corps provides medical aid to those in need in Buczkovia. The Medical Corps' supplies consist of two medicine cabinets filled with standard first-aid materials. The Buczkovian Government and Welfare Corps provides all other aspects of government not included in the other 5 branches, such as a Treasury and other important governmental bureaus. The Buczkovian Treasury, a branch of the B.G.W.C., is responsible for printing and managing Buczkovia's currency, the Buczkovian Mark and Cent-mark. The Mark comes in 1,5,10,20,50,and 100 denominations. The Cent-mark comes in .50,.25,.10,.05,and .01 denominations.

Location

Buczkovia is located within a quiet suburban neighborhood, surrounded by crop fields to the West, more suburbs to the North and South, and slightly urban areas to the east. The land surrounding Buczkovia consists of flat, grassy plains along with lakes and ponds. There is not much land that Buczkovia can call its own, as most of the land in the vicinity of Buczkovia is part of the State of Illinos. The little land Buczkovia controls consists of a house, a front yard, and a backyard. All of Buczkovia falls within Köppen Climate type Dfa (Hot-summer humid continental). Temperature in Buczkovia is very standard, but can hit very high and very low temperatures. The highest recorded temperature in Buczkovia's vicinity was 104°F (40°C), and the lowest, -26°F (-32°C). Buczkovia and its surrounding lands are home to many different animals native to Illinois. Birds like the Canada Goose, the Northern Cardinal, and the Red-tailed Hawk can be spotted near Buczkovia, and mammals like the Eastern Cottontail Rabbit, the Coyote, and the White-tailed Deer. Fish are also present near Buczkovia, and species such as Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Black Bullhead can also be spotted. Buczkovia's lands also host a variety of tree and plant life, like Ash trees, Oak trees, and Maple trees.

Foreign Relations

Foreign relations in Buczkovia are managed by the Buczkovian Foreign Relations Committee. Buczkovia recognizes (and is recognized by) several other Micronations such as Esnya, Cocklpot, The Sabarian Federation, New Scadania, Airrintania, and The Monarchist State of Vardena. Buczkovia is not recognized by any nations or political entities.
