The Kingdom of Zuljan is a simulationist micronation founded as a social and cultural experiment in which the inhabitants are represented by Plush Toy. This fictional kingdom was created with the intention of exploring sovereignty, political organization, and national identity in a non-traditional environment, where imagination and creativity are the fundamental pillars.

History

The Tarosian Republic was one of Jesus' first experiments in the creation and administration of micronations. Founded with the idea of building a fictitious community that simulated democratic and republican values, Tarosia stood as an example of self-government within the micronational movement. The structure of the government was based on the representation of its citizens (mainly stuffed animals and other symbolic characters), who, through simulated elections, participated in decision-making and the creation of laws. This project initially attracted the interest of the founder, who used it as a space to experiment with the construction of national identity and the development of state institutions.

Throughout its early years, the Tarosian Republic maintained a stable and narratively coherent system, with a parliament that discussed symbolic matters and a regularly elected president. However, over time, enthusiasm for the micronation began to wane. One of the factors that contributed to the loss of interest was the static nature of its political system, which did not leave much room for creative and narrative evolution. Initially innovative, the election rituals and republican dynamics began to feel repetitive and limiting, leading to gradual inactivity.

2024 marked a turning point. Jesus, feeling the need to renew and reinvigorate his micronational project, decided to abandon the concept of a republic in favor of a parliamentary monarchy, creating what is known today as the Kingdom of Zuljan. The transformation from Tarosia to Zuljan was not just a change in the system of government, but a complete reinvention of the micronation, with new traditions, symbols, and structures that gave it a deeper and more flexible character.

One of the main motivations behind the transition was the desire to introduce a richer and more dynamic narrative. While the republic had been limited by its own political framework, the new kingdom offered greater possibilities for creative expansion. The monarch, although limited in power, could exercise a symbolic and ceremonial role that better fit the evolution of the project. The parliament, which was now composed of a more elaborate representation of the kingdom's various symbolic characters, also took on a more active and creative role in political life.

In addition, the creation of the Order of Zuljan added a new element of distinction and recognition within the micronation, rewarding characters and citizens who made notable contributions to the Kingdom of Zuljan. This system of honors, nonexistent in the Tarosian Republic, strengthened the sense of belonging and active participation in the life of the kingdom. The monarchy also allowed for the introduction of more elaborate ceremonies and rituals that provided the Kingdom of Zuljan with a unique identity, significantly differentiating itself from its republican predecessor.

With this rebirth, the Kingdom of Zuljan not only rekindled the interest of its founder, but also became a more open and diverse platform for the creation of stories, characters, and symbolic events, achieving a continuity and evolution that the Tarosian Republic had not been able to sustain.

Form of Government

The Kingdom of Zuljan is a parliamentary monarchy, in which the power of the monarch is limited by the kingdom's Constitution and the laws passed by the Zuljan Parliament. The monarch, known as the King or Queen of Zuljan, has a primarily ceremonial role, although he or she retains the ability to intervene in certain matters of state.

The Parliament of Zuljan is the main legislative body, composed of representatives of the various factions or personages that make up the kingdom. Every "citizen" has the right to be represented in Parliament, which reinforces the community and participatory sense of the micronation. The Parliament is responsible for drafting laws, organizing the kingdom's budget, and managing symbolic events that keep the spirit of the nation alive.
