Jexpoian War 1 was fought on 8 April 2021, between the micronations of Jexpoi and Cenopo. King Ruvim of Cenopo had threatened to destroy Jexpoi, and had declared war on them. The war, which saw full mobilization of both countries back then, is to this day Jexpoi’s biggest conflict by number of soldiers and intensity.

Jexpoian War 1 (JW1)

This is the exact Jexpoian flag used by King Eric and his military during JW1. This is the very first Jexpoian flag with a flagpole, and remains one of the most important objects in the nation. This flag was flown during the defeat of Cenopo, when Jexpoi won the war by conquering it.

Background

Prior to JW1, there was another large conflict. It was called WOR1 (War of Rebellion 1), and was a Jexpoian victory. After losing the war, the 3 people who rebelled against Jexpoi seceded into their own country, Cenopo (this event occurred on 6 April 2021) . King Eric tried having peace talks with Cenopo, but negotiations failed. King Eric told King Ruvim, “We need peace!” Ruvim replied, "Yes, we will have peace, but only after Jexpoi is all destroyed!" So what were supposed to be peace negotiations turned into war negotiations. Kings Eric and Ruvim discussed the upcoming war and when it was to be done. The day chosen was two days later, on 8 April. As the date was set, both countries prepared to battle. Full mobilization occurred, and the armies trained for the upcoming war. Initially, King Eric felt discouraged. However, remembering Jexpoi’s perfect military performances in the past, he gained confidence and prepared to confront Cenopo.

War

Preparing for Conflict

On 8 April 2021, the two countries gathered together. Jexpoi had 6 soldiers, their full population back then. Cenopo had only 3 soldiers, but King Ruvim took 3 mercenaries with him to even out the armies. David, a Jexpoian of high rank, tried to give a speech. However, King Eric told him, “No, not right now!” Both nations lined up their soldiers, and stood facing each other.

Conflict

The Cenopans and Jexpoians started counting down. Then on King Eric’s command, the Jexpoians and Cenopans charged at each other, and the conflict ensued. Kings Eric and Ruvim personally faced each other, while Oleg of Jexpoi went after Jacob of Cenopo. Oleg almost captured Jacob, but Jacob escaped the area and fled to Ruvim, saving himself from immediate capture. At first, the soldiers were spread out all over, but as time passed they found themselves in the same area, with fighting very concentrated. All of the Cenopan soldiers attacked King Eric at once, but with the help of his soldiers he managed to fight all of them off. As the war progressed, King Ruvim was surrounded by Jexpoian soldiers. Ruvim was captured, along with Jacob and Ruslan, while the rest of the army were trapped to the ground by Oleg and David. The mercenaries eventually escaped and fled, and to this day have never joined Ruvim in any of the wars on his side. Ruvim, Jacob, and Ruslan were imprisoned, and King Eric decided to hold a trial for them a few days later instead of immediately apprehending them.

Aftermath

Immediate Aftermath

The 3 Cenopans were captured and imprisoned by the Jexpoians, awaiting their trial. Cenopo was conquered by Jexpoi, liquidated and incorporated. The war was named Jexpoian War 1, because King Eric knew that there would be a second one sometime in the future.

The Cenopo Trial

5 days after JW1, on 13 April, the trial occurred. First, the supporters of Ruvim went. Jacob said, “Ruvim is innocent. He should be set free, because he didn’t do anything. All he did was attack your country which was supposed to be attacked.” Then Ruslan said, “Ruvim is my brother, so you should set him free.” Then it was the turn for the Jexpoians. Oleg said, “These people committed treason against us, and so they should get arrested and destroyed!” After that, King Eric made his decision. The Cenopans could be free, but under some conditions:

  • They must give up their claims of Cenopo, as it is now Jexpoian
  • They must break up their army, and never gather it together again
  • They must become loyal to Jexpoi, and never go against it again

Ruvim agreed, and therefore was set free.

Records of JW1

There are only a few records of JW1, all of them created by King Eric of Jexpoi. Unfortunately, Cenopo (or the former members of it) didn’t create any of their own records, so the information known about the war all comes from a single point of view.

From the Records of Jexpoi

Two days before JW1, King Eric wrote down the events of the day in the Records of Jexpoi:

"The D Act is passed. King Eric gives Jacob as a slave to Ruvim but Ruvim breaks away from Jexpoi, and he says that he will destroy it."

On the day of the war, Eric wrote a small entry on the battle:

"Ruvim takes Jacob, Ruslan, David P, Samuel (David’s brother), and David D to create his army. King Eric takes David S, Oleg, Pavlik, Nikeeta, and Mark for his army. A war starts and Ruvim is captured. King Eric wins and plans to take Ruvim to trial."

Eric also wrote of the Cenopo Trial:

"Ruvim is taken to trial. Jacob and Ruslan speak up for him, and Oleg goes against him. King Eric releases Ruvim and Ruvim, Jacob, and Ruslan join Jexpoi."

The Record of JW1

Later on, Eric wrote a paper on JW1, named "The Record of JW1". He covered the days of 6, 8, and 13 April. As the commander of Jexpoi in JW1, he was an important eyewitness and described the events in detail. Eric decided to write the record while many of the events were still in his memory, preserving them for the future.

Other records

There are also a few other records on these events. Eric had a written record of the Cenopo Trial, but unfortunately it was lost. Also, the Jexpoian national anthem (written soon after JW1) has several lines about the war and Jexpoi’s victory in it.

In Jexpoian popular culture

Among the Jexpoians, JW1 is a very famous and important event. One of the co-official holidays of Jexpoi is JW1 Day, celebrating Jexpoi’s success. There are also several songs that at least mention JW1. As mentioned in the section about the records of JW1, the Jexpoian national anthem has several lines about the war. "Берегись, Сенопо!" ("Watch out, Cenopo!") is the most famous Jexpoian song about JW1, and is the only Jexpoian song currently specifically about JW1. Another famous song that mentions the war are "Эти Дни Победы" (These Days of Victory).
