}} The City of Jackalia is the Capital City of the Republic of Jackal, known as the "Birthplace of Jackal." It is the home of the president of Jackal, Jackson. It was made the capital on August 22nd 2022. It was the place where the Jackalian Civil War began and ended, and has been divided into two parts, the main capital, and Fort Hogan.

Jackals Government is ran by a Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Ultimately it is ran by the President, Jackson.

Etymology

The name of Jackalia is the same to how the name of the Republic of Jackal came to be. On August 23rd 2022, President Jackson H. was in the process of organizing the Republic. He first named the capital "Riley City", but for obvious reasons, he changed it on the basis that it didn't make sense, and didn't sound like an actual city ^{[neutrality is disputed]}. With assistance from his Vice-President, Xavier, he began to formulate the name we know today. On August 24th 2022, the Capital changed its name from Riley City to Jackalia, and since then the name has stuck.

History

The history of Jackalia began before the Republic, when the President moved onto the land. It wasn't called anything, just being nameless until the Republic of Jackal was formed on August 22nd 2022. Jackalia was the home to the major changes that occurred during Jackals early life. During the early days of the Republic, Jackalia was the place where council was formed, along with the Jackalian Court. Jackalia was the first place, for obvious reasons, to receive plans to build up a stable living space, along with shops. These plans never got finished due to the Jackalian Civil War starting. The civil war could be simply counted as a battle, where 4 rebels, ex Jackal citizens, broke off from the republic due to them thinking the Republic wouldn't last. Jackalias peace days didn't last, as this rebellion was seen as an act of war, a division of Jackalian citizens. Jackalia was the center of the first mobilization in response to the rebellion, where the 1st Jackal Infantry Division was mobilized, and was the place where the treaty was signed.

Since then, Jackalia has been in a state of peace once more, nothing major has occurred since then.

Politics and government

Jackalias political and government can be described in a paragraph. The government of Jackalia is a standard Mayor-Council form, where a Mayor is selected and a council is elected. The council of Jackalia acts as a stable body to ensure power isn't misused, along with this it acts as a small legislature for the city, assisting the Mayor with passing laws, and making changes that could benefit the city. The current Mayor is Robert H, grandfather of the President, Jackson H.

{Administration}

The administration of Jackal is a simple system. The administration positions, (Mayor, Deputy of the Mayor,) have the same but different abilities and power. The mayor is able to make decisions for the city, use the budget of said city, pass laws for the city such as speed limits, and is able to call meetings. Appoint people for command roles such as the police chief, and many more. The Deputy of the Mayor acts like an advisor, but even then has many powers. The Deputy of the Mayor, or simply DM, is allowed to enact meeting if needed, advise the mayor, step into the Mayor position if a mayor has not been elected yet, and such. The current Mayor is Robert H, and the current Deputy of the Mayor is Vonda H.

Law and order

Jackalias law and order is given to the police department of the city, the City of Jackalia Police Department, or simply the Jackalia PD. The JPD is usually staffed by reservists of the Jackalian Military, mainly military police. Currently the police department is staffed by two officers, which is enough for the small population of Jackalia, which is the biggest city for Jackal. The JPD is provided with airsoft weaponry, and a military police uniform, or a blue police uniform. They operate no vehicles.

Economy

Jackalias economy relies heavily on wood exports, along with scrap metal. Jackalia also uses a reserve export of eggs and food to bring in money to fund projects. The two currencies for Jackalia are the Jackalian Dollar, and the United States Dollar, USD. Mainly to back the Jackalian Dollar, which holds zero real world value. They also use scrap metal as another type of currency, due to it being highly valuable for building.

Culture

The culture of Jackalia is really simple in other books. The culture is heavily influenced by modern day US culture, but also with some Indian cultures being influenced, mainly due to Jackalia and the Republic being situated in Indiana, which was the land of the Indians. Jackalias culture really blends in with common micronational cultures, but stand out with its Indian culture.

Holidays

The holidays of Jackalia are heavily influenced by those recognized by the United States of America. They consist of New Years, Easter, Valentines (which is hold very closely in Jackalian Culture,) they also celebrate the Fourth of July due to them congratulating the US of its independence, a day which if not have happened, Jackal and many other micronations wouldn't exist. Jackalias only different holiday is Independence day, which is on August 22nd, and celebrates the independence of the Republic. To add to this, all of August 22nd-August 24th is a holiday, due to most of the major changes that shapes the republic today having happened then.
