The Islamic Republic of Antverpia, also known simply as Antverpia, is an Islamic micronation located in Europe, founded by Frans and two others in 2002. Frans had a link with the city, hence the name, but sadly fell in 2003-2004 due to people losing interest, causing it to decline and eventually fell.
History
On 16 March 2002, Frans and two others wanted to show that Islam is a religion of peace and love, especially since a little less than 1 year earlier, 9/11 happened. So, named after the Latin name of the Belgian city of Antwerp (Antverpia), they gave independence to the Islamic Republic Of Antverpia. A quote of the nation's website: "Antverpia calls itself an Islamic Republic because it tries to bring the Islamic teachings according to statecraft and governance into practice. The Antverpian constitution is based on a modern view on Islamic governing. The Islamic Republic of Antverpia tries to prove that Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, harmony and love" shows why it is an Islamic republic.
The constitution was adopted on 16August 2002, although no information is known about it, like the words, it still exists. In 2004, an election was held, but for some reason, everyone lost interest, causing decline, and fell completely. But, the concept is not fully gone forever, as the idea was carried on to the Islamic Republic Of New Batavia, and the Sultanate Of Kurum Ash-Sharqia.
