The Imperial Duchy of Pomerania (German: Reichsherzogtum Pommern) is a micronation located in the Pomeranian region of northern Germany and southern Poland. It was re-established in 2022 by a group of Englishmen and Pomeranian nationalists who sought to revive the rich historical and cultural legacy of the Pomeranian people.
History
The Duchy of Pomerania was a historical state that existed from the 12th century until the 17th century when it was divided between Sweden and Brandenburg-Prussia. In 2022, a group of Englishmen and Pomeranian nationalists decided to re-establish the duchy as an imperial micronation, with Neustettin as its capital.
Government and politics
The Imperial Duchy of Pomerania is a constitutional monarchy under a regency with a parliamentary system of government. The monarch, known as the Emperor or Empress of Pomerania, serves as the symbolic head of state with a Duke-Regent acting as a de facto head of state, while the Prime Minister is the head of government.
