History

The Republic of Three Oaks, founded on October 15, 2020, marked its Independance with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Initial leadership was held by Vice President James Lawrence and President Jemma Kraus, and the nation began on a small piece of land. However, by July 2021, Lawrence deemed the existing structure impractical and orchestrated a coup, renaming the nation "Willburg." The capital was relocated from Virginia Beach, VA, to Bristow, Virginia, including islands in a nearby river.

In August 2021, President Lawrence sought expansion and annexed a piece of land in Arizona for opportunities. The first election, held in September 2021, saw Lawrence as the victor with nine voters. The election introduced the role of Prime Minister, and subsequent elections became an annual occurrence.

Land disputes with the neighboring micronation, Chrisville, escalated, leading to conflict in September 2021. The war, lasting a month, witnessed significant losses, notably at the Battle of Saguaro Ridge. An armistice was signed on February 28, 2022, resulting in Willburg giving 100 "wills" (equivalent to 10 USD) and gaining control of the main portion of Saguaro Ridge.

July 2022 witnessed the formation of the Little United Nations (L.U.N), uniting four micronations in Arizona, including Willburg, Chrisville, Santacruz, and Tomville. The L.U.N played a crucial role in maintaining peace among the nations. However, in September 2022, Chrisville disbanded, relinquishing its Saguaro Ridge claim to Willburg.

In July 2023, Willburg faced challenges in Arizona, leading to the decision to return its Arizona land to the United States. The nation refocused on Virginia, particularly on Middle Run in Springfield, VA. A charter, established on August 27, 2023, marked the claim of a one-kilometer stretch of land as the colony became the nation's central focus for several months.
