The Republic of Mormont, more commonly known as Mormont, was a micronation in the United States of America, Mormont was founded as a political protest to corruption and partisan politics. Mormont was founded on 6 June 2023, after the Proclamation of the Republic, which had started being written the night prior. The Proclamation had a Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Mormont all in one.
The MicroWiki page was written the same day, however it was rewritten on 7 June.
Mormont's style of government was inspired by the Republic of Molossia's benevolent dictatorship. In the constitution, the citizenry of Mormont were promised the right to vote for members of the National Assembly, the sole legislative body and a Chancellor whom, upon appointment may serve 4 terms (each consisting of 2 years), or unless the citizens petition the government.
The Republic of Mormont did not have any foreign relations.
Mormont had seeked to raise awareness of government overreach and corruption.
