The Honorable Alexander Scott-Perez is a Cascadian politician and 1st President of the Federal Commonwealth of Cascadia. He started his career in 2020 by utilizing connections with the leaders in the Cascadian Bio-regionalist Movement to gain the rank of Colonel in the newly formed Cascadian Army.

Early Life

Alexander Scott-Perez's early years were spent in school where he developed a passion for politics and military history. He found a small group of friends in school who shared these passions, and they together created several mock governments and spaces for sharing political thought.

Scott-Perez first created the micro-nation of Cascadia in 2020, and established himself as the Military Governor of Washington. The idea of Cascadia was slowly built and never got extremely popular with only a handful of people gaining citizenship.

Experience

Scott-Perez has participated and created many mock governments since 2020, and has held positions of governors, cabinet secretaries/ministers, and even the Prime Minister or President of several of them.

Throughout this experience, Scott-Perez focused on education, welfare, and tax policy. He spent a majority of his time in these administrations fighting inactivity and often relied on several key officials to help pass key legislation.

Legislative Actions

Scott-Perez has made several constitutions in his career, to include the current constitution of the Federal Commonwealth of Cascadia. He passed legislation regarding vocational education for high schoolers, and increasing subsidies for poorer citizens in the mock governments.

Cascadian Politics

Leadership in early Cascadia was disjointed and mostly absent, with only Scott-Perez being active for years. Recently, with the establishment of the new constitution, Scott-Perez and a long time friend Romin Millan have begun reconstructing the Cascadian government.

Political Positions

Scott-Perez first became the Military Governor of Washington State, serving in this position for many years during the Guerilla War. As Military Governor, Scott-Perez coordinated military forces within the state, reported directly to the Chairman of National Defense, and worked alongside the civilian Governor to maintain order. As time progressed, the Military Governors' of the states gained more power then the civilian Governors. Scott-Perez ceded authority back to the civilian governor after the establishment of the Cascadian Constitution.

Scott-Perez assumed the office of Chairman of National Defense in the Council of National Salvation on February 19th 2023 after his predecessor was charged with conspiring with rebel forces against the provisional government. As Chairman, Scott-Perez oversaw all military operations in Cascadia and prioritized making the Cascadian armed forces a trained fighting force. On March 3rd 2023, Scott-Perez used his power as Chairman to lead a coup of the Council of National Salvation using his authority over the Cascadian military. While in power, Scott-Perez led several attacks against rebel strongholds in Cascadia, ultimately bringing the Guerilla War to an end.

When the Guerilla War ended in May of 2023, Scott-Perez established a Constitutional Convention to finally end the provisional government. Scott-Perez was inaugurated as the 1st President of the Federal Commonwealth on the 3rd of August 2024, when the Cascadian constitution was ratified.

Personal Life

In February 2024, Alexander Scott-Perez married his high school sweetheart Brianna Scott-Perez. Brianna Scott-Perez now acts as Cascadia's First Lady.
