The Deputy Prime Minister of Capia is the deputy head of government in the People's Republic of Capia and a senior member of the cabinet. The office is not always in use and can sometimes be used to denote a minister's seniority.
Appointment
The DPM is appointed by the President of Capia. Unlike other ministers, they are typically appointed alongside the prime minister instead of on the nomination of the prime minister. However, if the office is left vacant, the prime minister can nominate candidates.
Role
The deputy prime minister has no formally outlined role. However, by convention they typically deputise in the Prime Minister's absence and aid the PM in carrying out their duties.
The DPM is also typically first in-line for appointment as Prime Minister if the incumbent Prime Minister is no longer able to carry out the duties of their office.
